The past couple of days, I and Josh have been avoiding each other. We have only hung out in groups and with Nick, so far nobody has asked about the distance between us. And now I was sitting on Avani's bed, while Nessa and Avani were playing with makeup.
"Oh my gosh Avani, your concealer is in your hair," said Nessa as she helps Avani whip the concealer off.
"Hey y/n!" shouts Avani as she turns around. I lift my head up.
"You have been awfully quiet, what's up?" asked Avani.
"Probably tired, not in the mood to do anything" I replied.
"No something is seriously up, come on talk to us," said Nessa as they both sat down on the bed.
"Guys I am fine," I said as I gave off a small chuckle.
"That's what person who is not fine, would say" stated Avani. I rolled my eyes and brought my gaze back to my phone. Nessa grabs my phone and throws it on the ground with frustration.
"NESSA! THAT'S MY PHONE!" I shouted.
"I seriously don't care, now speak" she shouted back. I lied back on the bed head, my hands covering my face as I tried to hide my feelings.
"Did something happen?" asked Avani as I felt her warm hand touch my arm. I look up and nodded my head.
"What happened?" replied Nessa as she picked up my phone and set it on the desk.
"Josh and I decided to take a break," I said with a shaky voice.
"Are you okay with the small break you both are taking?" asked Avani. I shrugged as I tried to blink away new tears forming.
"I am so confused right now, I just don't know" I admitted.
"Y/n, maybe take this time to reflect on your relationship. Like are you missing it, while you are on the break?" said Nessa.
"Yeah I'll think about it, I was at the diner yesterday with Jaden and he said I should take some time to think as well" I nodded. Nessa leaned over and wrapped her hands around my head and planted a kiss on my head.
"Guys, I need to go to lunch with some relatives, you guys can stay here?" asked Nessa.
"I have to go, my mum needs me" I lied. They both nodded and we all walked downstairs, I hugged them goodbye and got into my car and started to drive home. My fingers turned the radio on and "Tyler Durden" by Madison Beer started playing.
"With my fingers in your mouth. You're only speaking vowels" I sang to myself.

"I'm in love with Tyler Durden. That's why this shit ain't never working for me. I'm in love with a fantasy" I sang as tears rolled down my cheeks.

"Yeah, what are you gonna do?" I sighed. I let out a small chuckle, thinking how stupid I was.

"And I'm in love with Tyler Durden. That's why this shit ain't never working for me" I sang again.

"That's why none of this. No, none of its ever working" I whispered. My "Tyler Durden" was Josh, Josh Richards. I am in love with the fantasy of him, and I don't know what I was gonna do. I turn into the driveway of my house, I turn off the engine and sit in my seat as a new song started to play. I let out a heavy breath as I whipped away my tears and fixed my hair, I got out of the car and opened the front door to see the last person I wanna see. He is sitting at the counter with his mum while they talked to my mum and dad.
"Here she is!" smiled my dad as he sees me walk in. My eyes drift to him, he gives me a small smile and I return it. At least we are on friendly terms I said to myself.
"I haven't seen you in ages my sweetcakes" smiled Josh's mum. I gave her a hug and put on a fake smile.
"Same to you" I replied as I walked over to my mum and dad.
"We were thinking y/n," said my dad.
"Yeah?" I asked as I opened the fridge.
"To go on a little trip" smiled Josh's mum. With a shock, I drop a spoon on the floor. Thank god, my back was turned back. I took a deep breath in and turned around.
"What do you think?" asked my mum. A big knot formed in my throat as I struggled to speak, as my eyes avoid meeting with Josh's.
"I..err um think that's nice" I blurt out.
"Excellent! We are leaving next week, so be prepared!" grinned Josh's mum.
"Um, where are um going?" I asked, trying to act normal.
"We were thinking of...." said my dad. I looked at them expectedly.
"Of 2 places, both cities you absolutely will die for" squealed my mum.
"Guess!" said my dad. I shrugged as I still waited for their answer.
"Paris and New York!" said Josh's mum. Oh shit, I thought. Number one, PARIS IS THE CITY OF LOVE and I have to go with my ex-boyfriend to PARIS. And I wanted to visit New York with my friends, not with my ex. I groaned in my mind as I managed an excited expression. Josh looks up at me, I avoid his eyes.
"Well glad we told y/n, I'll text you the details?" said Josh's mum. My parents nodded. I looked over at Josh, he was on his phone and was texting rather very quickly. My parents and I walked them out, Josh gives me a small smile and I again returned it.
"I really don't know what I am gonna do," I said to myself.
