he gives me a gift

I sit on Josh's bed as he tries to find something in his drawer, Honey on my lap licking his paws. I take my phone out to see the time, it reads 9:00 pm. I bring my gaze to Josh where he is now throwing clothes on the floor.

"Hey what are you looking for?" I asked him. He turns around and groans to himself.

"Your birthday present" he finally replied. 

"You didn't have to-" I start but Josh shushes me.

"You are my girlfriend, there are no excuses for me to not have a gift," he says as he walks out the room. I chuckle to myself, as him opening the drawers in his sister's room.

"Honey is my gift tho" I said to him. 

"He is for us, this is for you" he replied from the other room. I shook my head, thinking to myself that he really did outdo himself.

"Oh yeah is Olivia still at your dad's?" I asked him from his room. I hear him shout a yes, and soon he comes out and back into his room holding a blue gift bag. He gestures for me to take it, my fingers grasp against the ribbon straps and I put it on my lap. I open the bag to reveal a box inside.

"Is this gonna be one of those Russian doll things?" I asked him.

"You'll see" he simply replied. I continue to open the box lid, to reveal a Columbia jumper. I smile and take it out of the blue tissue paper and clutch it to my chest, I look over at Josh. His lips hold a cute smile as he watches me.

"Do you like it?" he asked me. I nodded and cuddled the jumper.

"There's more" pointed Josh to the box, below where the jumper was another smaller box. I picked it up and slowly opened it, to reveal another small box but the words "Tiffany & Co" was scrawled on the material in it's iconic blue packaging. 

"Josh..." I said as I put the box down, like something bad was in there. He gives off a laugh and sits in front of me on the bed, his hands reach for mine.

"It's for you" he reminded me. 

"I can't accept this-" I began but Josh's fingers is on my lips. I sigh and give him a nod, he puts the box back to my palm.

"Now open it" he said with a smile. My fingers creep the lid open, my other hand goes to my heart as I scan the beautiful bracelt sitting.

"Josh it's so beautiful" I pouted. 

"Let me put it on for you" he suggested, I let him take the bracelt out of the box. His fingers unclasp the lock and put it around my wrist, and finally clasping it back on. I admire the gift, from the corner of my eye I see Josh staring at me.

"You outdid yourself, it must have been so stressful to prepare all this and this little one" I said to him. His hand goes to my cheek, leaning forward his lips meet mine. I smile into the kiss and feel him do as well. 

"Your so perfect" whispered Josh as he holds my face in his hands. I feel the butterflies in my stomach go crazy, I bit my lip and look down at Honey. My fingers run through Honey's hair as Josh holds my other hand.

"Don't miss me too much" I chuckled. 

"I won't" Josh replied with a cocky voice. I scoff and playfully punch his stomach, his lips escape a laugh as he falls on the bed. I crawl over and lie down next to him, wrapping an arm around his stomach. Feeling his chest rise up and down, I feel my body relax. Honey sits on his stomach, his hand petting the dog.

"But seriously don't miss me too much" I said. 

"I am obviously gonna miss you" he replied. I feel my heart go warm as he turns his gaze to me.

"Have I ever told how much you make me happy?" he smiles. I feel myself blush as he continues.

"How whenever you walk into the room, my stomach errupts in butterflies. How everytime I kiss you, I crave more of you and how you make me feel at home?" he asks me. I shook my head as I kiss his cheeks.

"Well you know now" he smiles. 

"I am sleepy" I mumbled. 

"Sleep, I'll see you tomorrow morning then" he said. I feel my eyelids droop and soon I am asleep.

A few hours later

I wake up to the blinding sun, I groan as I hid my face with the pillow. I slowly open my eyes to see my boyfriend going through his closet. 

"Morning" I said in a croaky voice. He turns around and gives me a big smile, I smile back as he crawls back into bed. 

"It's 6:00am, we should start to go" he said. I cleared my throat and gave him a nod.

"Meet me downstairs?" he asked as he got out of the bed. 

"See you soon" I answered. I took a shower and brushed my teeth and changed into some of the clothes that Josh set on his bed, I then walked downstairs. I see Josh has rolled his suitcase to the front door.

"Hey come here" said Josh from the kitchen, I look over at him. His hands holding a saucepan, I chuckle and walk over to him. 

"Watcha cooking?" I asked him. 

"Omeletes, here" said Josh as he grabbed a plate and placed the omelette on it. I find a fork and tear a piece of, pulling the egg off the fork the taste of tomato and cheese enter my mouth. 

"It's really good" I said to him, bringing my gaze to him.

"Your welcome, let's head out" he said, checking his phone. I nodded, grabbing my phone from where I placed it on the counter I walk to the front door.

"Josh? Sweetie are you leaving?" called Josh's mum. 

"Yes mum!" he shouted back. Soon his mother comes walking to the front door.

"Have a good semester my boy, and remember to have fun!" she smiled as he hugged her. 

"I will mum, I'll call when I get there" he smiled back.

"Stay safe" she said, as we walked out the door. 

"I'll see you later Mrs Richards" I said to his mum. She nods and kisses me on the cheek.

"Drive safetly honey" she replied. I nodded and catch up to Josh, who's putting his suitcase in the boot of the car.

"Bye mum!" he shouted. We both wave goodbye and Josh starts the car, and soon we are on the road.
