When I walked in to practice at Matthew Middle School, I was greeted by a lot of people. Last month was championships so we got a month off and today was the first practice of the swim season. When we started dry land, Carly, Macy, Molly, Brady and Pat came next to me and was talking about how practice is going to be so easy. When we were about to go into the water, Coach Charlie gave us the warm up. It was a 500 freestyle and then 12x100s on 1:30. During the warm up, all 6 of us always fool around like making funny faces underwater. We always get yelled at for fooling around but after he's done talking, we all laugh. After warm up, we did other easy stuff. Right before the end of practice, the junior group all did a relay. There is 18 kids in the group and there was 3 lanes to use, so 6 kids per lane. Two other kids and I were captains. I got to choose 5 kids I wanted on my relay. So I picked, of course, Carly, Macy, Molly, Brady and Pat. It was a freestyle relay. I went first, beating everybody else by 2 seconds. Then Macy went, we lost the league by a little bit but we were still first. Carly was next, sprinting really hard to give us a 4 second league. Molly was 4th, losing us the league by 3 seconds. Our second fastest person Pat went next, giving us a two second league. And our last and fastest person was Brady. He was next to the fastest person in the state. If our relay wanted to win, he has to sprint like there's no tomorrow. By the last lap, Brady and the kid next to him were neck and neck. When they touched the wall, I thought it was a tie, but we won by .01 of a second. we were screaming full of joy. Right before we left to go to our houses, Brady said that his birthday was on Saturday and wanted us to go to Rockin' Jump, a trampoline place. We all told him that we could go. When I got home, I finished my work and went to bed for the next day, Saturday.
