Never Looking Back

Part 4:

"Yea." I said choking on my tears, it was a good thing Elle was in a stroller and wasn't seeing her mommy crying.

"She's your daughter Zayn." I said quietly.

"What?! You just tell me this now!" He screamed.

"You could have told me!" Tears started pouring out of my eyes now. Zayn takes a deep breath and comes over to me.

"I'm-I'm sorry." He said. I could see the tears forming in his eyes.

"Goodbye Zayn." I said, and fast walked back down the block.

I could hear Zayn calling my name but I never looked back. We get back the apartment and I take Elle out of the stroller.

"Mamma who was that man?" She asked whipping away my tears.

"You'll find out soon okay baby?" I held her close to me. I heard the door bell and got up.

"Mamma come play with me!" Elle said holding my hand and dancing around.

"Let me just see who's at the door first okay?"

"Okay!" And she ran off.

I open the door and see Zayn standing there. I was about to close the door in his face when he stopped it from closing.

"Let me just talk to you without you running off?" He asked. I could see he was crying from earlier. I felt bad.

"Come in Zayn." I said opening the door a little wider. He steps in and closes the door behind him.

"So this where you've been hiding out?" He asked.

"Haha yea. I'm sorry for running off on you." I answered.

"It's okay."

"Um do you want something to drink or eat?" I asked trying to be a good hostess.

"No I'm okay. I came here to see you..." He said sitting down. I sat across from him. It got kind of awkward.

"Look Zayn. I'm so sorry from keeping Elle away from you." I said looking down.

"No it's okay. I'm sorry I wasn't here for her and for you. I never got to tell you the reason I left." He said.

"Management made me go out with some one else so that our relationship wouldn't go so far. It was totally stupid for me to just walk away from you like that and I've hated myself ever since. I always think about it you every second of the day. I would never do anything to you but yet I did...and it was all for my career." He said crying.

"I believe you Zayn. I would do anything for my career too.." I said going over to his side and giving him a hug.

"Thanks for understanding. " he said.

"I still love you McKenna..." Our eyes locked.

Just then Elle comes running through...
