Chapter 37
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. I heard as I got up from bed. Today was my birthday. I changed into a pair of black skinny jeans and a jumper and went downstairs. "Good morning babe." I heard Zayn say as I walked into the kitchen. "Happy 25th birthday beautiful." He said before kissing my lips. "Thank you. Are the girls up yet?" I asked smiling. Right when I said that Elle and Kayla came running in. "Good morning my loves." I said smiling as they both hugged my legs. "Happy birthday mommy!" They both said at the same time. "Thank you beautifuls." I said smiling. "Are you girls ready for your first day of school?" I asked as they got their backpacks. Elle was now 6 years old, going into the 1st grade and Kayla was 3 1/2 years old, going into pre-K. "Yes!" They said in unison. I walked them out to the drive way where I saw their school bus coming down the street. I fixed their uniforms and their hair.
"Elle I want you to watch your sister. Walk her to her classroom. Okay?" I said turning to Elle. "Yes mommy." She said hugging me. Then I turned to Kayla. "Kayla, pay attention to what Ellie says okay? She's going to take you to your teacher. Be nice, and have fun." I smiled at her. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes. "Don't cry baby." I said pulling her into a hug as the bus pulled up. "Go have fun. Make some friends. Mommy and daddy will be right here when you girls come back from school." I said as tears started forming in my eyes. I watched them run up to the bus and as the bus left I saw them waving at me through the window. "It's okay don't cry." Zayn said rubbing my back. "Another one off to school." I sighed. "We still have Gabe. And two more coming." He said smiling. It was true we had Gabe who was now 2 years old. He could talk and walk. And Zayn and I had twins coming soon in a month.
We walked into the house and I rushed upstairs, where Gabe was laying on his toddler bed wrapped up in blankets. "Mommy!" He screamed as I walking in. "Good morning baby." I said picking him up. "Happy birthday!" He said smiling at me. God, he looked so much like Zayn. "Thank you." I smiled as I walked downstairs. I put him down to play on the rug, and walked over to Zayn who had a day off from the studio. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. We were family. We had gotten married 2 years ago. I never heard from my parents again, which made me feel broken inside. But I had plenty of other people who cared to think about. Although I had many twists and turns in my 25 years of living. The best things in life came from memories, even if those memories are bad. Because we all know that we learn from those, then we forget them...and never look back.
