Chapter 15:

*FLASHBACK*

-At the hospital-

"Sweetie what do you choose?" My mother asked. I was sitting in my hospital bed, the nurse was holding 10 minute old Elle.

"I-I don't know." I said crying.

"Well you have to choose. Are you going to keep her or give her up for adoption? I'm sorry but I can't make the decision for you." She said walking over to me and hugging me.

"I'm keeping her." I said smiling. My mom smiled too, so did the nurse as she handed me Elle.

"She's beautiful." I said crying.

"What are you going to name her?" My mom asked looking over at me.

"Isabelle Rafaela Malik." I mumbled.

"That's perfect." My mom said squeezing my arm.

Later that day she left and it was just Isabelle and I.

"Elle. I promise to always be there for you. Never to let you go, and love you forever. And if you ever meet your daddy, or never get to meet him just know that he is a great person. I promise to keep you safe, and not let anything happen you..."

*FLASHBACK GONE*

I woke up in a dark room, not knowing where I was. I hear beeps and see a man walk through the door.

"Miss Miller? How are you feeling?" The man asked looking over some papers. My head burning and hurt like crap.

"My head hurts really bad, so does my leg." I said feeling the pain again.

"Okay." He said giving me some pain medicine.

"Sorry to not introduce myself. I'm your doctor. Your in hospital, do you remember what happened 3 weeks ago?" He asked sitting down in a chair.

"Three weeks ago?" I asked getting confused.

"Yes. You've been out for 3 weeks. Can you remember what happened?" He asked again picking up a notepad and pen.

"Well, I was bored so I went out with Elle. We went to Starbucks, then the park. While at the park we saw mobs of people coming towards us so we ran. They caught up to us, and I felt something hit the back of my head. I fell and Elle..." I started crying. This wasn't happening.

"What happened to Elle?" He asked softly.

I heard some people screaming outside my door, but I only ignored it going back to the doctor.

"Sh-she fell out of my arms and someone caught her. I thought that person was going to hand her to me and help me up but he didn't. He-he-he just...ran off. Holding Elle..." I said crying again.

"And what did this man look like?" He asked softly again handing me a tissue.

"Short brown hair, blue eyes, his nose was a little crocked." I said.

"Was he alone?" He asked taking notes.

"No, there was another guy but his hood was up." I said crying.

"Don't worry McKenna, were going to find Elle and arrest those men." He reassured me as he walked out.

I sobbed my eyes out. Why was I so stupid? Why did I leave the house that day? Why did I let go of Elle so easily? I was angry and mad at myself. I stop crying when I hear the screaming again. I hear a few guys voices, I listen closely.

"What do you mean I can't see her?!"

"I'm sorry sir, but she's resting right now. We'll let you know when you can come in."

"I need to see her!" He screamed.

"Please lower your voice! They're other people in this hospital."

"Do I look like I care?!" And I heard footsteps walk away.

I then heard some other guys voices, a softer one.

"Please doctor? He's about to hurt himself if he doesn't see her."

"I'm sorry. But not now." I drift away into a peaceful sleep...
