-Chapter 24 : Filling with regret and feeling terrible-

After what felt like hours, both of them noticed the presence of the human, maybe they did notice it earlier but didn't acknowledge it...

Irene had her trademark smirk displayed on her face, enjoying the disheartened, broken look of the younger, unlike someone who was standing just beside him.

Taehyung felt a pang of guilt surging in his heart despite hoping to feel satisfied by hurting the younger, just like he did to him a few days ago...quite twisted right!?...

He thought kissing Irene will give him satisfaction, peace but it did nothing to make him feel as he hoped rather it was quite opposite... The broken look of Jungkook's face caused him unexplainable pain....

He never intended to kiss Irene...that thought never crossed his mind...but he was disappointed with himself, with his life....he needed something to make him feel better....he just wanted to talk to her...but suddenly her suggestion of getting back at Jungkook started sounding appealing...he thought maybe kissing someone else will bring the other one the same pain he went through, will make him feel good...but it wasn't the case because now he was feeling terrible...way worse than earlier...

Still, his mind which was building back his defenses refused to recognize the hurt, made him feel like whatever he did was right...that Jungkook deserved it, that he was satisfied with it, which was far from the truth.

For everyone else it may look like only the human boy is suffering but the ones who don't cry, don't show their emotions are hurting the same....

Taehyung will never deny the fact that this boy standing in front of him wasn't the one who carelessly broke down all his walls and entered his heart without even knocking, no, he cannot and that's what scared him the most....The betrayal he got from the younger was way beyond self repair...his already scarred heart couldn't handle it and that's why they are here...in this situation...

Taehyung stubbornly believed that he was happy without Jungkook, that he never needed him in his life, which was why he was sporting a bitter smirk on his face, aura nonchalant, as if he wasn't affected by Jungkook's state...

Irene had already left the room after she realized that she had done her job commendably, patting her shoulder in her mind, feeling giddy, ignoring that well-known pain caused by the yearning of his mate....but she was too selfish to care....

The atmosphere was suffocating for both of them, none of them knew what to say anymore...both were fighting an unending battle between their heart and mind...

In Jungkook's case, it was the victory of heart while Taehyung's mind won the battle as he walked past the ravenette towards the door to leave.

But as I said earlier, Jungkook's heart didn't let Taehyung go as he held his wrist with both of his hands, sobbing hysterically, asking Taehyung to not go.

He blinked away the rest of the tears and calmed himself down to explain the older about the misunderstanding because no matter how much he tried, how much lost or heartbroken he felt...this feeling of hope always overpowered the others....

"Tae-Taehyung....please listen to me, just once...I promise I will not annoy you anymore but you need to know that I didn't lie to you.... I can"

"I can never do that to you....not when-"

"When what?" Taehyung's voice was sharp and cold completely different from the vulnerable one of the younger.

"When I love you!!"

Hearing Jungkook's confession didn't yield the results Jungkook was hoping for...

Taehyung snatched his hands away from younger's grip as his face hardened more than earlier if it was even possible...
