2 Weeks Later...
I walked into Hanna's room, looking for my shoes, to see her packing a suitcase. "Where are you going?" I asked. "I'm visiting my parents in Ottawa," She said, folding a shirt. "What about your brother?" I asked. "He's coming too," She growled.
"Eesh. Good luck," I said. "Why are you in here?" She asked. "I was planning to take Onyx on a walk, but I can't find my shoes," I said. "They're in my closet. I found Onyx chewing them and stuck them where she couldn't get them," Hanna said, pointing to her closed closet door. I went over and opened the door, finding my shoes.
I took them into the main room, and Onyx bounded up to me. I slid them on, then latched her leash on. I took her outside, breathing in the crisp morning air. I was glad I put on a hoodie because it was cooler than it was when we normally went for a walk. After jogging for about half an hour, we went back inside.
On my way up the stairs, I tripped and fell across about 5 steps. Groaning, I picked myself up and continued up the staircase. When I unlocked the door, I learned that Hanna had already left. I filled up Onyx's bowl with food and grabbed a Lord of the Rings book from the shelf in the corner. I sat down on the couch, soon being joined by Onyx as I curled up with the first book.
By the time I finished, it was lunchtime. I fried some sausages, with rice cooking in a pot on the burner behind. I pinched off a bit of sausage and tossed it down to Onyx, who lapped it up. After eating, I had sausage leftover. "Sit," I said, and she jumped up, trying to get the sausage in my hand.
"Sit," I repeated, and she stared up at me. "Sit," I said, pushing her down into a sitting position, then giving her a bit of sausage. I repeated the action several times, then stood up. "Sit," I said, and she sat down. "Good girl!" I scratched her had and gave her some more sausage.
I repeated this until there was no more sausage left. I took the second Lord of the Rings book off the shelf, curled up, and continued reading with Onyx laying her head on my lap.
a/n Next chapters starts the Infinity War plot. Prepare yourselves.
This has happened to me so many more times than I'll admit to. I'm horribly unobservant.
