I sighed, grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulder, casting one last glance at the others before turning towards the road. I didn't know where I was going, but I was going somewhere. I couldn't stay with these people. These heroes. Not after everything I've done.
I made it to the main road before someone noticed I was missing. I could hear them calling my name. Something inside me wanted to turn around and go back, but I grit my teeth and kept going. There was a rustling, and Steve came barrelling out of the woods behind me. "Tanya!" I tightened my grip, speeding up.
Unfortunately, I was too slow to outrun a determined Super Soldier. He skidded to a stop in front of me, preventing me from going any further. "Move, Rogers. I won't tell you again," I said, venom dripping from my tone. "Where are you going?" he asked as I tried to brush past him, but he grabbed my arm. "Nowhere you need to know," I growled, wrenching my arm out of his grasp.
"What's wrong, Tanya?" he asked softly, and I glared at him. "Everything! Everything is wrong, Rogers! Ever since I left my cell on Harudheen, it's been one heartbreak after another! Prison, my mom dying, my best friend dying, my dad! My dad, whose identity I learned two months before I got sent to hell!" I shouted, anger seeping out of me. "Your dad?" he asked quietly. "Yeah! I found out! Stark! Tony Stark was my father, and now he's dead! He died right in front of me! Now, I'm going to go turn myself in. I should at least do one good thing with my scum of a life," I growled, turning on my heel and walking away.
"Your name was cleared!" he called after me. "So? I can't stay here," I called back. "Yes, you can," he claimed. I turned back around, glaring daggers at him from a distance. "I'm a villain amongst heroes. A killer among saviors. I don't belong here. I don't belong anywhere. I'm too human to be considered an Aesir, but I have too much Aesir blood to be considered a human. I'm not staying, Rogers. I'm sure you'll get over it," I snapped.
"You've changed, Tanya. You're not that same person," he claimed. I brushed him off, continuing walking. "If you leave, you'll regret it for the rest of your life," he called. "Your claim is on record. It won't change my mind, though. It's just one regret. I've got thousands of those," I said. "Like what?" he asked.
"I made friends with Loki Laufeyson. Then I got to watch him die,"
a/n Sorry, this is so delayed! I was cooking tonight, and then I had some stuff I had to get done for school. Plus, I had to rewrite this chapter. I promise SHE will be up as soon as I finish the chapters!
