Why do bad things always happen to good people?

I woke up late for my first day at a new school. Then I couldn't find my clothes since I procrastinate and haven't unboxed anything. Oh, and not to mention, I'm the only vampire in an all werewolf school. Fate is obviously against me. Now, I don't necessarily have anything against werewolves, per-say just their attitudes and stench are pretty damn awful.

I went with the rocker style today; after struggling for a good twenty minutes. Walking out of the door and to my car, a silver F12 berlinetta Ferrari, I drove to school. Pulling into the parking lot of Howler Moon High, I can see that the wolves know that I'm here. I turn off the ignition and grab my bag as I walk, more like a runway model than a student, inside I receive many glares and growls in my direction. I smirk and flip my hair back as I walk towards the office.

"Hello." I saw drawing out my accent, speaking to the secretary.

"You must be...." she trails off.

"Lady Amelie Pompadour." I say diplomatically.

"Right. Here is your schedule Pompadour, and your locker information." she replies curtly.

"Thank you." I say as I walk toward my first class, French, with Mrs. Mathews.

The hallways all looked the same, but I somehow made it to my first class before the tardy bell. The wolves gave me hate filled looks while the teachers didn't even seem to care that I was here. I was hoping to avoid having to speak in front of class but Mrs. Mathews looked like she was just itching to make me feel uncomfortable. She told me to get in front of the class and introduce myself, as well as answer any questions the class had. Maybe they'll just ask to be friends? I hoped.

"I'm Amelie Pompadour." I say.

"What kind of name is Pompadour?" A guy in the back scoffs.

"The name of the original vampire family." I reply dismissively.

"The original?" A skanky blonde in the front asks.

"Yes the original."

"Then why are you here? Why not in some castle?" the same girl asks.

"Who knows." I reply as I go to my seat.

There was no way in hell I was going to tell them all of my family's secrets. It's not like I wanted to be here. I was forced to leave my castle and life of pampered living, into a town full of people that absolutely hated my existence just for existing.

The rest of the day went by fairly simple until I got to lunch. I hadn't made any friends so I had nowhere to sit. Not that I minded all too much. As long as I didn't have to cause a scene I was fine. The seats inside were all taken. All eyes were on me as I went through the lunch line and then proceeded outside to eat under an old oak tree. I didn't need  to eat but I figured it might help people relax if I at least managed to scarf down a fry or two.

I pull out my phone and start texting my friends from home. I was in the middle of reading a text from Bellevue when a guy walks over to me. I did my best to ignore him, which only made him angry.

"Stand up leech." He snarls.

I look up at him before standing up, jutting out my right hip and crossing my arms.

"What the hell do you want?" I ask impatiently.

"You, gone."

"Funny, we both want the same thing. Trust me, mutt, if I didn't have to be here, I wouldn't be."

There was a small crowd around us at this point and many were murmuring about the fact that I had spoken against him so easily. Quite frankly, I don't care who he is or if he's some kind of werewolf with a title. No one speaks to me that way.

"Do you know who you're speaking too?" He ask.

"Do you?" I reply.

"The alpha's son." He says, trying to intimidate me.

"The alpha's son? Really, thats the best you can come up with? I was expecting something more believable. You look just as weak as all the other dogs here."

He growled and shifted in front of me; his bones snapping in various places almost made me gag. I'll give him points for having a pretty wolf. Woah, wait no. He isn't pretty he's just like all the other dogs here. His wolf was Midnight black with emerald green eyes. He was as tall as me in his wolf form.

"Is this supposed to scare me?"

He snarled and lunged at me. I easily avoided him by stepping to the side.

"Woah. bad dog." I tease.

Werewolves always let their anger get the better of them, which is why they are always killed off so easy. I sigh, knowing the only way to calm him down is to either injure him or let him kill me.

I crouch into an attack position and jump over him and onto his back when he lunges. Gripping his fur in both of hands and hand on tightly as he attempts to get me off. I squeeze his sides with my legs causing him to have trouble breathing. His movements start becoming slower and uncoordinated before he finally collapses and shifts back. I climb off of him and smirk.

"Don't mess with a girl who can kick your ass without breaking a sweat." I say before walking away.

I hadn't mean't to cause a scene but you know, fate had other plans for me. At least he will leave me alone now. Or so I had hoped.
