Amelie's P.O.V.

As I left Codell's house, I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen if Vincent found out. He had told me not to come back and I had. Now, not only was I going to have to explain to my parents, but I would also have to explain where I went and why.

Knowing Vincent, he would give me a lecture about how I shouldn't be wandering off and so on. The real reason me and him were getting married was because we were both originals, meaning that together, we can have children to continue our bloodlines. Through the years we've grown to be very close although I wouldn't say I was in love with him. Don't get me wrong, I love him, but more as a friend.

I'm happy to be able to continue the bloodlines though. Luckily for me, he isn't like Claude. If he was, well, I would run and never be found. There's nothing in this world that would make me go through that torment again.

I sat outside in Vincent's garden admiring the flowers and the sky. The roses were in full bloom and smelled beautiful. The sun fell behind the trees and a somber twilight replaced the day. I could hear a few servants conversing quietly nearby and a gardener finishing his work. Ever since I was little, I had never had to work. Everything was given to me. I'm by no means, spoiled, just privileged. I'm an only child so I received all of my parents attention and adoration.

As I got older, however, I realized how lonely I was. I didn't have any siblings to play with and we never really talked to other families. That was when I met Vincent. His parents had come to our castle to meet with  my parents and we had been shooed off to play. We hit it off immediately and ran through the halls, tormented the guards, ran through the garden, and I even showed him a few of the castle secrets that I had found.

Needless to say, our parents were glad that we had both enjoyed each others company and doted on how we fell asleep in the library reading a few stories.

After that, they came by at least once a week and we would play together and then they would leave. It was something for both of us to look forward too and we did. When we were both seventeen, our parents decided that the two of us should get married. We agreed and the wedding plans started immediately.

We've continued to see each other frequently and don't really treat each other as a couple but more as best friends. We were extremely close and couldn't wait for our wedding so we could be together all the time.

I lied earlier about running a kingdom. I'm not in power yet. As soon as I am married I will be though. I'm kind of nervous. Almost one million people looking up to me? It's a terrifying thought really.  What if I trip in front of everyone? Or say something stupid. Oh and kill me if I were to burp or fart in public. Being a princess isn't as easy as you would think. It isn't just dresses and tiaras.

We have to learn multiple languages, many instruments, how to dance, and to walk right, and how to stay calm. You can't ever raise your voice or be cross. You are expected to be nothing less than perfect. Most of all, you have to sit around and do absolutely nothing on the reasoning that if something were to come up, someone needs to be at the castle at all times.

        I honestly hated it.
