Codell's P.O.V

Everyone was fighting. Women were running with their children and the humans were not backing down.

I stood, momentarily shocked and frozen in place. I saw Julien and Remy running my way.

"We need to find Amelie now. There's a huge possibility that this is her doing."

"But, how?" I ask.

"We don't know. We have to see what state she's in to determine that."

I nodded and took off looking for her. A storm had just started so finding her scent wouldn't be easy.

My legs were starting to get sore. I was cold and I just wanted to sleep. But I had to find her. Right as I was about to give up, I caught her scent.

It was mixed with someone else's but all that mattered was finding her.

I don't care if she hates me, I will save her regardless.

I walk down the alley and see her huddled against the wall clutching a small child.

"Amelie?" I ask quietly. I instantly regretted it. She looked up at me with so much hate that I'm pretty sure a cloud was making its way towards me.

The child started to cry, stealing her attention from me. She calmed it down and then looked back at me.

"What do you want?" She asked cooly. "And who are you?"

"I was just walking home from work when I caught your scent. Do you need somewhere to stay for the night?" A little lie won't hut too much will it?

"No. My husband would be furious if I went home with another man." She replied.

"Oh, I mean you no harm. I am married myself. You and my wife can share the room and I will sleep downstairs." Please fall for it.

She remained silent before standing up.

"Fine, but only because my son is starting to get cold." she said softly.

It took us a while to get back due to the storm but I managed to get us both there safely. At least until we had to lock her up.

"You tricked me." She screamed.

"This is worse than I thought." Remy said ignoring her.

"Where's my baby?!"

"Julien, give her that damned child." I said.

She seemed to visibly calm down once she had that thing.

I was about to leave when she started to cry. As much as I hated having to lie to her, we need to get her safe.
