When he to whom one speaks does not understand, and he who speaks himself does not understand, that is metaphysics.  ~Voltaire, Philosophical Dictionary

Amelie's P.O.V

"Look, I'm not trying to say that what you've been taught is wrong, I'm just saying that I have seen this world be born and destroyed since its birth." I say too Codell.

"That is pretty much saying that what I grew up believing is false. If God didn't create the world then what did?"

"The Big Bang happened during a war between my people and another's with which I will not get into because that will just raise more questions. Anyway, while we were at war, an explosion happened which led too all of the planets being constructed and the earth eventually being here. When the earth was first born, it was covered in lava and was unable to support life. But over time the lava hardened and created a crust and so on. Later, oxygen and hydrogen met and created water which is how you got the oceans and bacteria lived in the water. Then from there evolution occurred to create the humans today. Now through this process, many other people similar to me helped in the process by creating plants and animals."

"So are you saying that religion is all just a bunch of bullshit that people created?"

"In theory, yes. However, the earth you live on now isn't the original. In fact, this earth has destroyed itself over twelve times and been rebuilt. There were civilizations and such."

"How did they die out?"

I looked at him for a minute trying to decide if I should tell him or not.

"I guess you'll never know." I reply.

He looks at me in disbelief. I just shrug and walk over to the bookshelf.

Julien and Remy are sitting over in the corner discussing the plan and Codell just walked upstairs to get his stuff before he had to leave.

I wasn't sure how I felt about what had happened last night, I didn't know if I had enjoyed it or just wanted a break from what was going on.

I still didn't love him and I felt bad for playing with his emotions, but its what I needed to do in order to survive right now.

I need him on my side.

"So Julien, how are you going to get rid of Vincent?"

"I was thinking of kidnapping him in his sleep and then having him wake up over a cauldron."

"Graphic. Why not just poison him?" Codell said.

"Poison won't work. First off, he'd see and smell it and it can kill us."

"Lock him up and starve him?" I asked.

"That could work. We get him locked up and then Remy erases everyone's memories of him except us."

"Or, you can give me my wife back and I turn you all in for treason." Vincent said appearing out of nowhere followed by twelve guards.
