Klaus Mikaelson confidently walked out of the classroom leaving his newly turned hybrid with the blonde headed younger vampire who somewhat had his interest. He walked down the long hallway leading to the exit door. The hybrid pushed open the doors with little force once he was near the exit. The doors swung open, allowing him to leave and enter the parking lot where he parked his truck.
The moment he had completed the ritual and left Mystic Falls, he became fixated on making more hybrids. He thought when he found the solution to making more hybrids that he would feel happy, joyful or even the least bit satisfied as he wanted more half breeds that were like himself. But no, he did not feel that way. Quite the opposite if he was being specific. Klaus felt even more empty than he had before breaking his curse. As if a bottomless void was dug into his heart, further making him feel there was something missing. Or someone.
For the last thousand years, he had felt incomplete like a part of him was missing. Over the last hundreds of years, he had drunk as much blood, more than enough alcohol and slept with whoever was around to attempt to fill up the hole he felt. His attempts were at most futile until he discovered a way of retrieving what has been taken from him. Oddly enough he did not have a clear enough memory of how he discovered the ritual or how there were doppelgängers after Tatia's disappearance. Certain memories in his life was blurred and muttered up that caused him to feel paranoid and suspicious but he tried not to think about it too much. For the next hundred years, it became his goal to break the curse his so-called mother placed upon him.
Klaus thought if he had his werewolf side that that feeling of emptiness would disappear as well. But that was not the case. He shook his head at his foolish thoughts as he neared his truck in the particular empty parking lot. The hybrid sped up his pace and opened the passenger door, not quite yet about to leave as he wanted to wait for his little sister to appear.
Klaus's expression remained blank as his mind raced with numerous thoughts that appeared in his mind. His hands subconsciously tightened against the steering wheel at his frustrating thoughts. The temperamental hybrid was so consumed in his thoughts that he did not seem to notice Rebekah enter before she cleared her voice loudly with a confused expression.
The hybrid's eyes snapped to the blonde. "Rebekah." He spoke shortly, still trying to pull himself out of his mind to appear as if he was paying attention.
"You don't look happy, brother," Rebekah commented slowly, voicing out her observations. "You finally got what you wanted here. You have finally become the hybrid you always desired to be even if it cost the rest of us years of our lives." Her tone slightly edged toward her tone. It was clear she was not over being daggered and would continue to hold it over her older brother. "I'm sure you already have some plan brewing in your mind with some diabolical scheme to make yourself more hybrids. But you're still not satisfied are you?" She rhetorically asked.
"I need hybrids for protection, Rebekah. There isn't a way of me explaining it where you would agree so I won't bother." Klaus stated tiredly. "No, I am not satisfied, Rebekah, and I don't think I will ever be." He spoke in truthfulness. There wasn't a point in hiding it as his sister was almost as observant as himself and could tell when something was off with him. "Little sister, do you feel empty inside as if nothing could ever make you feel whole?" He wasn't sure if he ever felt whole in his lifetime.
The younger blonde was talented back by the straightforward question but kept her composure and sighed, leaning back in the seat to get more comfortable. "I don't think I have ever heard you ask such a question. Way to throw me in a loop." She teased, chuckling shortly. "I've grown used to the feel but it seems you have not, Nik." After that short response, the two originals drove away from the school in an uncomfortable silence.
Not knowing what would be awaiting them soon enough.
