Chapter 23: Niall

I don't really know what to think of everything that's going on.

Seriously, the drama around here is so juicy. The kid from District 1 and District 11 and fighting over a girl from District 3. That same girl was out with the boy from District 4, and they caused the lock down earlier today. The boy from District 1--Harry, I think--said that he's in love with Addy, and Addy says that she loves him back, even though she came off the stage crying.  She tried to say that she wasn't but she wasn't fooling me.  I know when a person is lying.

And me?

"I've been creating weird strategy plans and eating," I said, answering Caesar's question about what I've been up to while I was here. "All Mikayla and I have done is joked about different things we could do when we were in the games,"

Caesar let out a hearty laugh. "I guess that's what we could expect from District 8, huh?"

The audience roared with laughter, and I laughed along with them. It was great to get the crowd going; I might need the sponsors that sat in those seats for when I'm starving and on the brink of death.

"I guess it is," I said, after my fit of giggles stopped. "Mikayla and I have had a lot of fun, just off to ourselves."

"That leads me to my next question: it seems that so far everyone has had some romatic occasion with their partners. What about you? Anything interesting going on with Miss Mikayla?"

"Besides the weird master plans to destroy the games," the audience roared with laughter. "JOKING!" I added quickly, not wanting to offend anyone that doesn't have a good sense of humor. "But, really, we have to romantic connections with each other," Except for when I popped a boner at Mikayla. "We've just grown to be good friends."

"Well that's good," he said. The bell rang, ending my time to talk about everything I needed to say.

I went back stage, finding Mikayla still in her dress. "Hey, Mik,"

"Hey, Niall," she said. "I really laughed hard at your interview. You did a really good job.  We're gonna get sponsors for sure!"

I laughed at her excitement. "I felt really comfortable out there." I felt like I was in my element. Just talking and laughing and making jokes about stupid things was like second nature to my eating habits.

"Well, we should probably get going," she said. "I need sleep, and you look a wreck," she laughed.

"Hey!" I said. "Well if I must say, you look beautiful, even after hours of nonsleep."

She blushed a bit. "Thanks, Ni. You're the best."

"Any time," I said as we walked out of the studio.
