I Would Drive On To The End With You pt.8

I woke up to my phone ringing loudly *DANCE DANCE WE'RE FALLING APART TO HALF TIME* my phone screeched.
"Hello?" I asked not even bothering to see who it was who called me.
"Shit! Sorry, Y/N. Did I wake you up?" Gerard's voice rang out through the phone.
"That's what it looks like Gee"I said in a fake annoyed voice.
"Sorry Y/N. I just wanted to ask you if you wanna go on a picnic with me...?" Gerard asked.
"Oh! Sure.Sorry Gee I'm not really mad."I said with a laugh.
"Well now I look stupid again,thanks Y/N. How about I pick you up at about 12:30 pm?" Gerard said.
"That works for me. See you then Gerard!" I said.
"Bye Y/N!" Gerard said. He hung up the phone and I looked at the clock. 'Shit! He's gonna be here in 30 minutes!' I thought. I jumped up and looked at myself in the mirror. I've got my work cut out for me. I put on some black shorts, a shortsleeved shirt that says: "it's a beautiful day to leave me alone." And a black hoodie. I brushed my hair out and put it up in a messy bun. I threw on my Converse shoes and as soon as I tied my shoe laces I heard a knock at the door. I ran to the door and flung it open.
"Why hello there!" I screeched.
"...Are you dying or something?" Gerard asked me.
"No I just wanted to see if you still wanna hang out with me knowing that I have a crazy side." I told him.
"Of course I do. Crazy lady, I have a quick question for you..," Gerard said.
"What is it Gee?" I asked.
"U-umm... we've already gone on a d-date.. so uhh... Will you be m-my official girlfriend.. so that I can be your official boyfriend?" He asked in an awkward tone.
"Of course Gerard!"I exclaimed hugging him tightly.
"I honestly thought you were gonna say no.." he said quietly.
"Why would I say no? I'm honestly shocked you asked me out in the first place." I replied.
"Well...I have self esteem issues.. I was bullied in high school and kids would always beat me up and call me a whale.. so I always just thought I was fat and ugly.." he said quietly.
"Oh Gerard, that happened to me too. Just know that I'll always be here if you need anything." I said sincerely.
"Thanks Y/N, that means a lot. You ready to go yet?" Gerard said with a smile.
"Yup." I replied. We got into his car and held hands while he drove us to a nice field about 45 minutes away from my apartment.
"Here we are!" Gerard exclaimed while grabbing stuff out of the trunk. He had a Blue and white blanket, a picnic basket, and an acoustic guitar. He laid down the blanket and set the basket on top of it. The acoustic guitar sat at his side. We ate some food and talked until I asked what the guitar was for
"Gee, what's the guitar for?" I asked.
"I thought you'd never ask. I wanna play a song from my bands first album for you." Gerard said.
"I'd love to hear it." I said with a smile. He picked up the guitar and started to sing and play.
Once the song (Demolition Lovers) was over we celebrated, eventually we got so happy he picked me up by the waist and spun us around while we laughed. Once he put me back down he looked me in the eyes and kissed me. I was pretty shocked at first but eventually I realized what was going on and kissed back. We pulled away and he immediately started apologizing.
"Oh my god! Y/N I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking a" I cut him off by kissing him again, this time it was his turn to be surprised.
"It's fine Gerard. Wanna go drive around?" I said reassuringly with a smile.
"I would drive on to the end with you."Gerard replied smiling back.
