MY EYES struggled to open that next morning, as the sun shone harshly through the bedroom window, body aching considerably from the night before. the pain raced through my body as i groaned out quietly, doing my best to properly wake up and move around, so i could get on the best that i could with day ahead. sarah would have my head and neck if she knew i was sleeping in and it was most likely late at this stage.

but no matter how hard i tried, i couldn't move.

had i hurt myself last night? did i do something stupid to cause an injury? and what the hell was on top of me? i finally managed to open my eyes wider to see what was going on, my vision blurred and dust still caught in my tear duct. i closed my eyes again, deciding that i would try to get a bit more sleep, when a loud noise distracted me. i turned myself on my side slightly, before moving myself back quickly in shock.

damon, who was only in his underwear, was snoring softly beside me, his arm anchoring me onto the bed.

a small yelp escaped my throat, but he remained asleep, now just snoring louder. even tapping him roughly on the arm did nothing. "damn," i mumbled, before squirming out of his grasp. i shuffled closer towards him, bending down and cupping my hands around his ear.

"DAMON!" i screamed into it, causing him to jump awake, narrowly avoiding head-butting each other. he sat under the duvet, rubbing his eyes before turning to look at me.

"bloody hell," he groaned, his voice deep and husky. "hi, amber. you sleep well?"

i slammed my head onto the pillow, groaning loudly into the fabric, making him chuckle at the sight of me.

"rough night, huh?"

"did we do anything stupid?" i sat up, rubbing my eyes with my thumb and index fingers, pressing hard into the sockets of my eyes, beginning to feel the start of an abhorrent headache starting. i never gotten ahead of myself that much when it came to alcohol and i had always avoided substances, but last night felt like a good time for me to break the rules and switch it up a bit. however, never again, i swore to myself as damon shook his head.
