POV — amber
I GROANED out loud in frustration and threw the entirety of my wardrobe onto the bedroom floor. you would imagine that with over twenty shirts, ten pants, five skirts and ten pairs of shoes that i would manage to pair things together. but no, nothing. my brain blanked and i began to panic, wondering if cancelling my plans would've been a better idea.
that day, i had arranged to meet damon. i had never felt such relief in my life after the phone call he had made the night previous, reassuring me that we were still on good terms, even if i had in fact, drowned his girlfriend in alcohol. the fact he cared so deeply for me gave me an unimaginable amount of happiness, a feeling as warm as the sun radiating through your skin whenever it was a hot day.
i however, nearly had no time to even think. it was exactly twenty one minutes until the clock struck twelve. my foolish self decided it would be an incredibly clever idea to go to bed at three in the morning. not good, because i was now exhausted, all of the energy sucked out of my body. i yawned out loud and picked up a random pair of black leggings, an old sweatshirt and a white cropped vest. not the most appealing of outfits, but at least i would have some form of comfort. i wasn't in the mood to make an effort today, but i knew the press would most likely take the opportunity to bad mouth my apparel if they saw it for them self.
i had just finished tidying up my messy heap of hair when i had heard the loud honking of damon's car horn outside the apartment. excitement began to build up as i grabbed my car keys from the counter in the kitchen, running out the door and down the steps of the complex.
there stood damon in a tight, blue button up shirt. he waited patiently on the pavement, leaning against his car door, smoking another one of his cigarettes. as he puffed out the fumes, he threw his head back, mouth slightly agape. his jawline accentuated as he did so, staring up towards the sky. the sunlight hit the edge of his face, casting a small shadow down the side of his neck. he looked so peaceful when he was engrossed in his thoughts, pondering on life and everything else in between. he had finally noticed my presence, extinguishing the butt and making his way towards me. he wrapped his long arms around me, engulfing me in his body. he was always so cuddly, never failing to give a proper hug. i enjoyed his hugs, even if they were rare.
