That voice, that awful voice! A green light swirled around me as my dad stepped into the light. He looked down at Jaxon, shaking his head in mock pity. "Shame, he was such a good boy."
"Daddy," I snarled, my eyes locked on the daggers in his hands. "What're you doing here?" He took a step forward, kneeling down and pulling the dagger from Jaxons back. I winced in horror, sighing in relief as Jaxon coughed. He's alive.
"I'm killing off my children. Well, I'm trying to," He replied. "You mutants are useless and pathetic! Especially you!" I put my hands over my ears, twirling around sarcastically. I was done listening to his crap. "You're a useless who** who is only used for sex! How's boyfriend working out for ya? He leave you yet?"
I took my hands off my ears, doubling over in laughter. "Have I ever told you how much I DON'T CARE ANYMORE?" I exclaimed. "I don't care what you say! For years you sold me off as a sex slave, tossing your daughter at any man you could get your hands on. I got pregnant, Daddy! You know who was there for ME? NO ONE!" I screamed in anger. "The only father figure I had was Charles Xavier, and that man CHANGED. MY. LIFE." I growled under my breath as I made a squeezing motion with my hand, strangling him. "YOU ARE DEAD TO ME."
I heard pained coughing as I walked forward down the hall with my father hanging by a thread. "ev-Evangeline," Jaxon coughed, slowly sitting up. "Ev, you're better then him. Don't stoop to his level-" I shoved against the wall, my eyes locked with his bright blue ones. I round house kicked him, dragging his unconscious body through the door I'd come from and slamming it shut. "You alright?"
I gasped, watching as he stood up without a problem. "That idiot has no clue I self heal," We stared at each other for a moment before he pulled me into a hug. "I missed you little sister."
I pulled away, smiling up at him. He'd grown a good bit. "You weren't a mutant last time I saw you. What happened?"
"I got married to a human. I also gave my daughter my powers, which I got two years ago. Mom found me at the house when I was getting my left over things, and told me she was taking me to dinner. I woke up screaming in a lab."
"Okay, so Bliss can fly, I can kill without touch, what can you do?" I led him outside, watching as he flicked open his hand and we were suddenly standing outside of Central Park. I rose my eyebrows in surprise, laughing half heartedly. "Do you read minds to?"
He tilted his hand back and forth. "A little bit, enough to know you needed to come here." Looking around the park, I noticed a man alone playing chess by moving the pieces WITHOUT his hands. "What are we doing here Ev?"
I turned to him, smirking. "Did my eyes change color?" He was silent for a moment, and then nodded. "What color are they?"
"Yellow and orange! Man that's creepy," I grinned as he ran a hand through his hair. "Are you sure about this Ev?"
"We need him Jaxon. He can help us bring down Mum." I broke into a jog, waving my hand. The chess board flew into the tree line, leaving Erik stunned. He'd gotten a lot older. "Hello again. I see you still have your powers."
"Ah... Remant. I've heard a lot about you, being more powerful then the Phoenix. That's impressive." He leaned forward, his eyes staring curiously at mine. "Your eyes, they are orange." He whispered.
"Erik, I'm one of Charles Xaviers oldest friends. I was practically his daughter," He opened his mouth to say something but I cut him off. "My mom is killing off mutants so SHE can be the most powerful." He rose an eyebrow, leaning back in his chair. "She injected my sister and my brother and turned them to mutants so she could kill them off. I need to bring her down, and I can't do it alone."
"What happened to the XMEN?" He mused. "Why aren't they helping you?"
"I needed against Gabrielle Xavier and came here to get you to help us." I leaned forward at the same time he did. "I also have a question for you."
"I'm all ears."
"DO you know me??" I whispered, fiddling with my hair. "Because according to Charles, you and him know me a lot better then I think you do."
"Listen to me very carefully Evy," My heart froze at that name. "Yes, I do know you. A lot better then you think I do."
"HOW?" I snapped. "You're older then me! I just met you! How do you know me?!"
"Evangeline." Jaxon took a step forward. "You are 21, but it's not the first time you've been 21. One of your mutations which Mum erased," He said softly. "You were born in 1941 and died in 1962. You were there at the Cuba incident, and because of him," He jabbed a thumb at Erik. "You died. You were born from Mum after that, and she had her doctor inject you with a serum that keeps you from dying again and living another life."
"You fell in love with Charles in 1962. Your best friend was Raven. You trained with Charles when you were younger, and he fell in love with you. You two were head over heels." No. Way. "When you died, he was a wreck. I'd never seen him so messed up."
"Wait, so the man who practically raised me, my only father figure, was my lover at some point?" I crinkled my nose, causing Jaxon to chuckle.
"Okay, that's a whole new level of weird."
"Whenever you died, you were born to Christabella Gracelyn James. Charles knew who you were whenever you met again, except you were younger. But for some reason, he had no recollection of the romantics you two shared. He trained you and made you the woman you are now. When he died, he was so proud of you." I was tearing up at that point. I hid my face in my hands as I cried softly.
