‘It's the raccoon cat…’ You rolled your eyes, you patted your pants from dust, your robe nicely folded aside on the couch.
You turned around to see the certain raccoon cat, grinning from ear to ear. Your eyes widened slightly noticing him inside without you not knowing about it.
“Huh, it's you again.” You mumbled in disdain, leaning onto one foot and crossing your arms.
“What's that supposed to mean?!” He glared at you then grinned smugly. “If you think getting thrown out is gonna make me give up on getting in, you've got another thing coming!”
“Uh-huh.” You muttered and raised an eyebrow. “You're really desperate on getting into this school, no?”
Grim huffed. “I'm a genius who is destined to be a great magician! I've been waiting for the Ebony Carriage to come pick me up but…” His mood turned depressed in a matter of seconds, but then he successfully composed himself. “Hmph! The Dark Mirror just doesn't have an eye for this.” He gestured to himself. “So that's why I came here on my own. Not letting me in would be a loss for the world, humans don't get it.” He pridefully declared, his chin up.
Then a drop of water landed on his nose.
“Nyah! It's so cold! The roof is leaking!” A water dropped again, now landing on his ear making a hissing sound as it came in contact with the flames. “Gah! It keeps coming! My flaming ears are gonna go out at this rate!”
You looked up, a water droplet landing down perfectly on your nasion, you blinked at the sudden coldness.
“Buckets, we need lots of buckets.” You stated, looking around the spacious room.
“Magic should fix this quickly.” He looked up at you expectantly.
You deadpanned. “Did you actually forget what happened in the entrance ceremony? I can't use magic for hell's sake.”
“Wha– you can't use magic?” He laughed. “Pfft! You're useless!”
You felt your eyebrows twitch as you grew annoyed.
“I can throw you out of this dorm if you want to, unless you help me of course.” You raised an eyebrow, daringly.
“Huh? Help you? Why should I? I'm just a regular monster staying in a rainy place. You better get a can of tuna ready before I do any work.”
You looked down at him with an unknown expression, slowly walking up to his furred figure.
“That's bad then, if you won't help then you're not welcome here either.” He started to back away from you. “Now, it would such a shame if your ear flames die out in this rain, no?”
Grim's eyes narrowed. “You wouldn't dare.”
You glared more viciously at him. “Try me.”
~ × ~
You both were on the dark hallway, looking for buckets with Grim by your side muttering under his breath.
Then there was a bad feeling residing in your guts.
‘Somebody's here.’ Your (e/c) eyes narrowed, scanning around the dimmed space, high alert.
Then shrill laughters broke the eerie silence in the hallway as three, white ghostly figures; one thin, the other fat, the last one short and chubby.
“We haven't had a guest so long… I'm itching for some action…!” There was a playful undertone in its voice.
“Ghosts, huh?”
Grim peeked out, his blue eyes widened. “G-G-G-GHOOOOSTS!” He hid behind your legs, as you watched the said ghosts float around.
The short plump one spoke up. “The people living here got scared of us and left.”
“We've been looking for more ghost pals. How about you guys?” The fat one followed, then they all laughed.
‘I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me!’
You raised a brow, not really being affected. You've seen worse than ghosts, you've watched The Human Centipede and you assumed there's nothing worse than that.
You felt something shaking behind your legs, you looked down and saw the dark colored raccoon cat, practically vibrate in terror.
“You scared?” You decided to tease.
He looked up and glared, albeit his eyes showing his fearful persona, he forcefully scoffed and walked in front of you. “Grim the Great isn't scared of some ghosts!” He heaved a deep breath and blew out a large portion of hot fire.
“Where are you aiming?” The thin and tall ghost mocked.
“Over here, over here! Heeheehee!” The plump ghost taunted.
‘What the– you're Michael Jackson, now?’ You raised a brow as you watch in the ghosts taunt and tease the raccoon cat.
“Stop disappearing!” Grim shouted and blew fire again.
You looked over and saw that his eyes are closed.
‘Are you serious?’ You huffed. “You know maybe if you stop closing your eyes you would be able to hit them.”
“Shut up! Stop ordering me around!”
You rolled your eyes and pondered for a bit, thinking of how you could get these ghosts away. Your face lit up with an idea.
“I'll give you a can of tuna, if you win.” You watched as his ears twitched at the sound of his favorite food.
“Wha–! I'm a genius, I don't need…”
The ghosts laughed as they continued to torture the two of you.
“Bunch of cowards ganging up on us!” He glared at the mischievous ghosts.
‘This is taking too long!’
“For a limited time, I'll give you one more can of tuna.” You said, wanting for this to end so you can sleep.
Grim grumbled and pondered for a bit then turned to you. “Hey you! Tell me where the ghosts are!”
“On the left!” You pointed to the ghost, which Grim hit with his fire.
“Hot, hot, hot!” The ghost clutched the part of its body that the fire hit.
“I hit it! Nice, now let's chase them all out of here!”
