「 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒚𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 」

It was bright at first, blinding light engulfed you in every dip of your body and consciousness.

“Just hurry and paint the roses red.” A voice echoed. “If we don't, the flowers will wilt!”

You reluctantly opened your eyes, holding up a hand to shield you from the light, thankfully the light died down and you dropped down your hand.

In front of you was a monochromatic scene, the only color standing out was red. Pure bright red.

You were standing in, you assumed was, a heart themed Rose Garden Maze. All the bushes were trimmed in the shape of a heart with white roses littering them intricately.

“Hurry, hurry! There are still some that aren't painted!” A human sized card spoke, it was the Ace of Clubs.

“This seems oddly familiar…” You felt your temples throbbing slightly.

“Why are you painting the white roses red?” A light voice asked, you looked to the side and saw the heroine in the fairy tale of Alice in Wonderland, Alice herself.

‘What is she doing in my dream?’ There it was again, a zap of pain burst into your temples, you hissed

“Huh?”

“Why, you ask?” A Two of Clubs card glanced at the blonde girl. “Well, to be completely honest, we had made a mistake and accidentally planted white roses.”

Ace of Clubs jumped in. “The Queen loves red, so if she sees the white roses, then it’s off with our heads!”

“Yes, yes, that's right. And that's exactly why we're painting them red.” The Three of Clubs nodded along.

“The Queen?”

Then it was swirling, you jolted awake after that, clutching your throbbing head trying to catch your breath, your chest heaving heavily.

“What was that…?” You muttered to yourself, not getting the whole point of the bizarre dream.

Why did you dream of Alice in Wonderland? Was the question you wanted answered.

You looked around, it was your bedroom in the Ramshackle dorm, you sighed and plopped back down onto the bed.

“This is getting more interesting every day.”

A loud but soft knocking on the door snapped you out if your trance, you slowly sat up and stared at the door, grabbing your cloak beside the bed you put it on with the hood up, securing it tightly over your figure.

‘I'm losing my beloved sleep!’

You stood up and quietly walked down to the foyer. Opening the door, you were greeted by a gloomy face of Ace.

“Hey, it's me Ace... can-can you let me, uh, in for a bit…?” His tone was down and dejected, he was looking down at the floor not meeting eyes with anyone.

You moved to the side and let Ace walked in. “What are you doing here this late?”

“Well…–”

“Huh? Ace? Why are you here this late in the night?” Grim groggily walked towards the two of you, obviously looking like he had just woke up. He looked up and saw the familiar heart-shaped metal collar on Ace's neck, his eyes widened. “Gah! Why do you have that collar?!”
