The next day as we set out I was riding closer to Thorin not that he minded. He told me about Erebor and Dale and how amazing evverything was. He talked about his grandfather and his father. I could tell he missed them terribly along with his sister Dis, Kili and Fili's mother.
"Why are you telling me all of this?" I asked confused as we rode.
"I feel as though I can trust you Elanor. You're very much like me. Like us." He replied and I blushed. We kept talking through the rain. When we stopped we were at an abandoned ruined farmhouse but the sun was shining and it felt nice.
“We’ll camp here for the night. Fili, Kili, look after the ponies. Make sure you stay with them.”Thorin ordered and helped me off of my horse.
“A farmer and his family used to live here.”Gandalf observed.
“Oin, Gloin.”Thorin said.
“Aye?”Gloin asked.
“Get a fire going.”
“Right you are.”
“I think it would be wiser to move on. We could make for the Hidden Valley.”Gandalf said and I knew what was in the hidden valley Imaldris, Rivendell.
“I have told you already, I will not go near that place.”Thorin replied I had known what the elves of Mirkwood had done to the dwarves fo Erebor, Thranduil refused to help them.
“Why not? The elves could help us. We could get food, rest, advice.”Gandalf suggested.
“I do not need their advice.”Thorin replied.
“We have a map that we cannot read. Lord Elrond could help us.”
“Help? A dragon attacks Erebor, what help came from the Elves? Orcs plunder Moria, desecrate our sacred halls, the Elves looked on and did nothing. You ask me to seek out the very people who betrayed my grandfather and betrayed my father.”
“You are neither of them. I did not give you that map and key for you to hold on to the past.”
“I did not know that they were yours to keep.” Thorin growled and Gandalf decided to storm ff and it worried Bilbo I helped Bombur with the food fro dinner which was a delicious soup. Bilbo was sent with two bowls for Fili and Kili but he was gone quite some time. We saw Kili and Fili run back and tell us that there were trolls that had taken Bilbo but when we went to fight it was all for naught they had tied us up in sacks except for the few the put on a spit to roast. Bilbo stalled for us and Gandalf finally got there with the first light of dawn which turned them to stone.
“Where did you go to, if I may ask?”Thorin asked Gandalf I wanted to know too.
“To look ahead.”Gandalf replied.
“What brought you back?”I asked.
“Looking behind. Nasty business. Still, they are all in one piece.”
“No thanks to your burglar.”Thorin grolwed which not only angered Gandalf but angered me a small bit.
“He had the nous to play for time. None of the rest of you thought of that.” Gandalf deffended Bilbo which I was grateful for.
"He's right Thorin It was more than we thought of." I said.
“They must have come down from the Ettenmoors.”Gandalf said
“Since when do mountain trolls venture this far south?”Thorin asked.
“Oh, not for an age, not since a darker power ruled these lands. They could not have moved in daylight.”
“There must be a cave nearby.” We found the troll hoard and I stayed outside as a look out with some of the other dwarves and Bilbo. When Thorin came out he had a new sword in his sheath and something in his hands.
"Elanor." He said and I turned around to face him.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I found something in the troll hoard that I thought you might like." He said and held out a beautiful necklace. (picture)
"Thorin this is beautiful, I love it." I replied and that made him smile. I lifted up my hair and he put it around my neck.
"It's beauty is in no comparison to yours." He said with a small blush. I never thought I'd see a blush such as that on the handsome determined dwarf.
"Thank you." I said and kissed his cheek. I didn't know what this meant for either of us but I knew something had changed. Soon I heard something and we all huddled together I was ready to fight whatever it was. I quickly tlooked behind me to see that Bilbo had been given a sword as well. Then we heard him. It was Radaghast the Brown the wizard who tended to the forests and the animals. Then we heard another sound.
"Was that a wolf? Are there--are there wolves out there?”Bilbo asked concerned.
“Wolves? No, that is not a wolf.” Bofur told him and I knew what it was. I had heard one before.
“Warg-Scouts! Which means an Orc pack is not far behind.”Thorin said.
“Orc pack?”Bilbo asked.
“Who did you tell about your quest, beyond your kin?”Gandalf asked.
“No one.”Thorin replied.
“Who did you tell?”
“No one, I swear. What in Durin’s name is going on?”
“You are being hunted.”
“We have to get out of here.”Dwalin said.
“We can’t! We have no ponies; they bolted.”Ori panicked.
“I’ll draw them off.”Radaghast offered with his sled of rabbits.
“These are Gundabad Wargs; they will outrun you.”Gandalf said trying to stop him.
“These are Rhosgobel Rabbits; I’d like to see them try.”He said and we began our serpentine run upon the open land.
