A Human in a New World: The Secret

Chapter 1

September 25, 2156
The room was dark and full of rubble left behind by the people who built this place as the sounds of mining rang through. A drill breaks through a wall and light fills the room as two creatures slowly walk in with assault rifle ready. The first is a Black wolf about six foot five, the other a mountain lion around that same height. Both wearing military gear. After scanning the room the lowered there weapons and motioned for others to come in.

After doing so three other creatures walked in. All three were birds of different colors and started searching the room as the wolf and cougar watched.

Wolf: So, we find the ruins of a lab of some sort and all we get is this huge room. Looks empty to me.

Cougar: You always say that when we do these assignments but they always find something.

Wolf: You do have a point there.

They then hear one of the birds call out to them and they walk over. The bird had blue feathers rang ring from light to dark.

Bird: We found something under here.

Pointing to a pile of rubble. The wolf kneels down and feels air coming from underneath.

Wolf: Passageway. Help me move this.

Once the wolf said this they started to remove the rubble and all of them then moved a huge slab of stone revealing stairs going down somewhere.

The wolf pointed his flashlight down the hole and began their decent. Once they got to the bottom they found a hallway leading to another room except it was smaller than the previous one. When they entered they saw computers lining the walls and tubes next to each. As they scanned each on they found that they were empty except for one which looked completely frozen.

Wolf: I got something over here.

The bird from earlier walked over and began to study the tube.

Wolf: Dr. Fleeck what are we looking at?

Dr. Fleeck: I believe it is a cryotube as stated from the research notes we from the other site. I believe someone is inside.

Cougar: So your saying is that a human is possibly inside, but how? They all went extinct though.

Dr Fleeck: They did go extinct but the purpose of a cryotube is to preserve the person that is inside keeping them alive till they are woken up.

Wolf: So someone has been in there for over a hundred years and is still alive. How do we open it?

Dr Fleeck: Let me see here, there appears to be a manual release mechanism which will start the opening process.
Dr Fleeck then pulls a lever on the side of the tube and it then starts making sounds.

Tube: Warning, de thawing process intilialized please stand back.

they stood back as the ice began to melt and after a minute or so the tube opened. As it opened, must came out. Dr fleeck took a step forward and saw that the person inside was a human young man around the age of sixteen. He wore a black suit that looked like it was made from some kind of plastic fibrous material wrapping around his torso and arms to his hands covering some of his palm and back of his hand. He also had boots that seemed to go up to his knee and the same material covered from his knees up reconnecting to his torso. Over his legs was the same material but looked as if it were a kimono where a large flap on both the back and front went down to the middle of his shin but leaving two slit from where it attaches to his waist down to the end.

Dr Fleeck got a bit closer and noticed that he was breathing and was sound asleep.

Dr Fleeck: He's alive and asleep. We should take him back to camp.

Wolf: Agreed.

The wolf then motioned for the others to take the human back to camp. As they did so Dr Fleeck studied the tube.

Wolf: The last juman alive. Never thought I would see one.

Dr Fleeck: Same here except he seems different.

Wolf: How so?

Dr Fleeck: From what I have learned about humans, they wear the exact same clothes we do but with him though, his clothing is unlike anything I have seen. I have seen what suits they would wear when being put into a cryotube and they are nothing like what he is wearing. We will need to watch him and see what he does when he wakes up.

Wolf: Agreed, waking up in a world where your the last of your species is going to flip his world upside down.

Dr Fleeck: Agreed.
