Chapter 5

Blake's POV

As school ended, I walked out the front of the school and saw Sarah waiting out front. I waved to her and she waved back shyly. I smile and walk up to her.

Me: Ready to go?

Sarah: Y-yeah.

I smile and we start walking home. As we walk, we talk about different things, such as school and what our interests are.

Me: Before I was out in the cryotube, I liked to play games and watches movies. I didn't do much and I don't think that much will change but...

I trail off thinking about before. I thought of my friends before and it made my heart hurt a bit.

Sarah: Everything okay?

Me: Yeah, just thinking about everything before all this happened. My friends I had before.

I sigh. We walk in silence for a minute or two till Sarah speaks, breaking it.

Sarah: I'm sorry to hear that. I lost friends but that was because they moved away and I later found out, they weren't really my friends. They just played along to not hurt my feelings but it didn't help.

Me: I knew some people who did that, and, sad to say, I did that to someone. I wasn't trying to but it sadly ended that way. I felt so bad afterwards that ever since then I have done all I can to prevent it. So don't worry about that happening to you again with me.

I look over to her and smile. She smiles and turns away trying to hide a blush. I look away giggling to myself.

Sarah: So, how was your first day of school in a new world?

Me: Well despite meeting Micheal and his gang, I was pretty nervous but it went better than expected. You?

Sarah: It started horrible but I met someone who made it better.

She smiles as she says that.

Me: I see, and if you don't mind me asking, who was this person.

She laughs.

Me: What? What's so funny?

She laughs before speaking.

Sarah: That's you silly.

She punches me in the arm as she says this and I feel kinda stupid.

Me: I'm glad that I made it better for you.

We eventually reach her house.

Me: Well, I better get going. It was fun walking together.

Sarah: Agreed, thanks for being my friend. I was afraid that I wouldn't make any but I was wrong.

Me: Same here. If there is anything you need I am just a few doors down.

Sarah: Can't I just call you?

I then realize that I don't have a phone.

Me: I don't have a phone right now.

Sarah: Oh, well until then, I will stop by your home when I need something.

Me: Sounds like a plan.

Before I could say goodbye, Sarah gives me a hug. I stand there for a bit before hugging her back.

Sarah: Thank you again.

She lets go then runs into her house. I smile and start heading home.

Sarah's POV
When I ran into my house after hugging Blake, I quickly looked out the window and watched him start walking home. Ever since he helped me at lunch, I could never get rid of this warm feeling in my chest. It felt good, and I wanted to be with Blake more. Was this...Love? I shook my head at the thought.
