I stood in front of my mirror, making sure my hair was pulled back and had no bumps in it. I grabbed my boots and backpack and headed outside. It's been several days since I talked to Jason and I still haven't heard from him. God knows I wasn't going to talk to him first. I was very content with him not talking to me.
"AJ lets go!" Andy called out to me and I ran down the stairs. My dad was standing in the kitchen holding out my travel mug filled with hot chocolate, "Thank you, daddy" I kissed him on the cheek and ran out the door.
"Seriously what takes you so long! It's not like you wear makeup or do your hair," Andy pulled out of the driveway and headed off to school.
"Easy. I sleep in because I don't need that extra time to get ready. You should try it sometime. Maybe you won't be so grumpy" I smirked, but ducked out of the way before he could mess up my hair. I may not care much about appearances but I couldn't stand my hair having bumps in it.
Andy just laughed and turned up the music. My phone buzzed and I pulled it out thinking it was Madison wondering where I was but when I looked at the clock I realized we were more than likely going to be earlier than usual. I looked to see a text from a number I didn't recognize "Have a great day of school, babe. We need to get together soon."
I rolled my eyes as I realized who the text was from. I just closed my phone and put it back in my pocket as Andy pulled up to the school.
"AJ! I need to see your math homework. After we worked on a few problems on Friday I completely forgot about it! Please help me," Madison pouted and I shook my head smiling. Typical Madison. "Yeah, let's just head to the library and you can copy it. See you later Andy!" I called out to my brother as we started walking away.
"See ya! Keep my sister out of trouble, Mads"
"No promises!" Madison yelled back as we were farther away now.
...............
Madison and I were sitting in math when my phone buzzed again. Our teacher was still going over the homework that I no doubt got everything right on so I took it out to read it.
"I know you read the text. No girl in high school goes this long without reading their texts. What if their girlfriend needed a tampon!? Oh the horror! They would probably stop being your friend. What if I needed a tampon and you were ignoring me!?"
I had to cover my giggle with my hand, which caused Madison to raise her eyebrows at me. I just shook my head at her and put my phone back in my pocket.
The bell rang a half an hour later and the two of us grabbed our stuff to leave. We had English next with each other and Andy. Unfortunately we had to sit in alphabetical order so Madison was on the other side of the room and I had to sit in front of Andy who would try to get my attention every so often. He was dying to get me into trouble just once, and he has yet to succeed.
"Hey, AJ!" Andy whispered from behind me. "I might start wearing my soccer socks to this class." I wanted to gag, but I was calling his bluff. No girl would want to go near him.
"Or maybe my jersey..." Not so bad.
"With my soccer socks." Okay now I'm grossed out. Just stay facing forward AJ.
"Andrew could you answer the question please," I smirked knowing he didn't hear it.
Andy stuttered, not knowing what to say. I would've tried to help if he didn't just threaten to suffocate me with his stench.
"Pay attention Andrew," our teacher, Mrs. Carr, scolded as she turned to me. "What about you, Amanda? What did you think about the reading last night?"
