Jungkook

It’s Saturday again.  I sat on my bed looking through the photos I took last weekend.  I love taking photos, but I never know what to do with them.  As I was flipping through the prints I had made, the fish scale I found slipped out.  Looking at it again, I thought of the boy I met.

With nothing else to do today, I packed up my camera and my things, and walked to the nearest bus stop.

40 minutes later, I hopped off the bus and started walking up the hill to the temple.  The usual crowd of families and groups were there, gathering for photos and listening to tour guides.  I continued my own tour weaving through and around the buildings only to come out the back of one facing a large shade tree.

“You’re back!”  a familiar voice nearby said.

I turned toward the sound, and saw the boy from my last visit.  Surprised, I said, “You too!”

“Taking more photos?”  he asked.

Smiling, I responded, “Yes and no.  I always have my camera with me though.  …  You like to come here a lot?”

He nodded, “I enjoy watching people.  When the weather is nice.”

“I’m Jungkook.”  I held out my hand, wanting to introduce myself.  He cocked his head a little with curious eyes.

“...Taehyung.”  He responded.  Taehyung… nice name.  I like it.

A bit nervous for no reason, rubbing the back of my neck with my hand, I asked if he wanted to sit under the tree with me.  He followed me over, and we sat in the shade.  I glanced at him again, wanting to admire his beauty, wondering if he’d let me photograph him again.

“Tae… can I call you Tae?”  He nodded.  “Can...can I take your photo again?”

“What do you do with them?”  he asked.

“Oh… um… nothing really, just look at them again later, I guess.”  I didn’t have a better answer.  I had boxes of photos in my room.

I turned toward him and backed up a little, taking a quick glance through my lens.  “Just relax and act normally.”  I quickly snapped a few and came back to show him.

His eyes lit up and the biggest smile appeared on his face.  Gosh, am I blushing?

“Can I try??”  He excitedly asked.  I handed him my camera and showed him what button to press.  He backed away from me and with the most serious face, took about 20 photos.  I think.  I heard it click a lot. He must have held the button down.  I chuckled.

When he heard the clicks, his eyes grew a little and held the camera away from his face to see what it was doing.  I came over to him and pushed the preview button so he could see the photos he took.

His face lit up with a smile so big… Has he ever used a camera before?

A second later, his head turned toward the sun, and a grim expression appeared on his face.

“I have to go.”  He stood up and started to walk away.

“Wait!  ...can we hang out again?”  I asked.  He nodded with a smile.  “But how can I contact you?”

“I’ll be here when you come.”  He replied.  Then he turned and started walking away, until I couldn’t see him anymore.

How will he know when I'm here?
