PROMPT 04 ; "CAREFREE SMILES."
PROMPT 05 ; "BEING UNSURE IS OKAY; WE CAN BE UNSURE TOGETHER."
this story has far too many trigger warnings to count, the main ones being kidnapping, murder, child marriage and gore. (not proofread due to the fact that i have lost far too many braincells writing this story, and it's SO LONG IT'S 8K WORTH OF WORDS OH MY FUCKING GOD)continuation of day 2 -- he leaves early
For the majority of his life, Yoongi has been right about most things; he knows things, he researches them, he tries to understand people and their rather hypocritical minds and tries to catch the behavioural patterns that work in his favour-- when he finds a person that might be of high value to him, he never lets them out of his sight.
Jeon Jungkook has been his highest asset lately.
See, even though many people like to describe Yoongi like he's some kind of robot, he's not. He can appreciate when people look good, and he can tell when his body has some kind of attraction towards them. So, Yoongi is not afraid to admit, that in many ways, Jeon Jungkook is definitely attractive. At least physically. Personality-wise, he isn't quite sure yet, but it seems that after the initial bad meeting the two had, Jungkook seems to tolerate Yoongi's often mean and obnoxious, and borderline cruel behaviour (for now), so the latter tolerates him too.
(Though, over time Jungkook's presence in Yoongi's life has become extremely prevalent, claiming a spot in his never-ending thought process, which is something not taken lightly.)
But Yoongi doesn't keep people around because he "likes them"-- again, the preferred term is associates and as stated earlier, Jungkook is of incredible use to him; the way he interacts with customers only draws in more, creating a rather warm atmosphere that wasn't there before when Yoongi was working alone, the plants' evergreen leaves almost growing with a newfound energy that wasn't there before, something less delicate and wilder, reflecting Jungkook's incredible joy in life.
Yoongi can't help but appreciate the younger for that.
But after a while, the nature of their relationship starts to shift.
... It had all started when Yoongi had dragged Jungkook along on their first real adventure, which included a white dress, lots of flowers, and a murder. A study in scarlet, Yoongi's mind humorously inserts as they're busy figuring out who the real killers are, you should make Jungkook write this story up, and Yoongi can't help but slap himself in the face for that.
Indeed, Yoongi is generally quite apathetic towards most things that don't interest him, so it's easy for him to ignore pressuring or preconceived notions people have placed upon him, but when something is repeated to him for most of his life, it's only human nature for his mind to sometimes recycle that thought process.
Human nature is generally a bit terrible, and Yoongi doesn't understand why it exists in the first place. It's stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. Unoriginal, not very flexible, and often quite unintelligent. Stupid. Yoongi hates human nature.
Yoongi isn't Sherlock, but they do have a lot in common. Sometimes he hates Sherlock for it (why should he hate himself, for God's sake? He's the one who's real, and Sherlock is the fictional one) and sometimes he loves Sherlock for giving him options, and already touching on subjects Yoongi should otherwise explore alone, because even though he's great, even though he's better than any ordinary person you meet on the street, even though he's a genius that is wasting his talents, the exploration of oneself will always hurt, one way or another.
