Charlie had an early shift the next morning and Bella apparently had some sort of baseball game to get to, Stiles wasn't really listening at that time he was more worried about his morning coffee than anything else. Embry showed up for breakfast about an hour later.

"Hey, come in," Stiles said holding the door open for him, "breakfast's been ready for the last ten minutes."

"Good morning to you too," Embry retorted as he walked through the living room before rounding the corner to the kitchen and finding the small table packed with cereal, pancakes, muffins, cookies, orange juice, and coffee.

"What?" Stiles shrugged when he noticed Embry's wide-eyed look and the shock that left his jaw hanging open, "I know werewolves like to eat a lot."

"How do you know that?" Embry asked, "and how do you know about werewolves?" he questioned pulling up a seat and falling into the chair his hand immediately grabbing for a muffin.

Stiles had been up half the night thinking of how to answer that very question and since Deaton told him about being a spark both Derek and Scott agreed to make him their personal pack emissary or more like emissary in training right now. And that entitled that he protect the pack above all else which meant telling Embry no matter how much Stiles wanted to trust him was a risk, so instead, he decided to stick with a single white lie for the meantime.

"Crossed paths with a couple back home, but they were totally different from you, well..." Stiles paused as he poured himself another cup of coffee, "at least I think they were, also when I visited the museum at the reserve all those legends about the Quileute tribes and the fearless wolf shifters that protected them... it kinda just pieced together itself."

"Stiles, please you can't tell anyone. Please!" Embry pleaded giving Stiles bigger and sadder puppy eyes than Scott could ever muster up even on his most vulnerable and downright awful days.

"I'm not gonna tell anyone, dude" Stiles reassured, "I promise."

Embry looked at Stiles like he'd just asked for his hand in marriage the happiness and relief that melted onto his face was so unbelievable.

"So, how did you become a werewolf?" Stiles asked as he slid into the opposite seat across from him.

"Uh... it's a genetic thing passed down through the men in our tribe, well mostly men it's really rare for a woman to get it" Embry said his eyes lighting up as he spoke probably happy he had someone other than his pack to talk to about it. "There are four of us so far I was the last to turn, Sam was the first-"

"Sam Uley?" Stiles asked the name sounded so familiar like it was mentioned to him somewhere outside of Forks.

"Yeah, he's our alpha for now" Embry replied.

"For now?" Stiles raised a curious brow at that.

"I was told he took over the alpha position from the Black family and his son's supposed to inherit the title..." he trailed off his gaze faltering slightly, "but Jacob hasn't turned yet, so until he does and accepts being our pack's alpha, Sam's it."

Stiles nodded thoughtfully as he soaked all the information in, "wait, what's up with you and Jake, you two were best friends and now you barely look at each other."

Guilt flashed across Embry's face making him nervously play with the cup in his hands, "Before I knew what was happening both me and Jacob thought Sam, Jared, and Paul were apart of some cult thing. They were really secretive all of a sudden, not to mention moody and you wouldn't find one without the other two-"
