Stiles and Embry found themselves back in the familiar open field just off of Sam and Emily's place and with how often they came here, Stiles was starting to think that it was just 'their' spot. Stiles sat down first and Embry followed while Stiles tried his best to soak up the little sun ray's Embry was nervously twirling a blade of grass through his fingers.

"Okay, I know it's cold as hell here" Stiles sighed, "but I really did miss this place."

Embry smiled, "it missed you too."

Stiles rolled his head to the side to look at Embry with a grin, "I missed you too and the pack, you a little more though" Stiles said measuring the amount with his fingers which made Embry chuckle.

"Your alpha seems nice," Embry said.

Stiles' forehead creased slightly, "trust me, he's not. But after everything that's happened, I can't blame him. Now, him and Leah find each other, isn't that great?"

"Great wouldn't exactly be the word I'd use," Embry remarked, "I mean, have you met Leah? Imprint or not, she will no doubt not make it easy on him."

"Yeah" Stiles had to agree, "but they're really similar from what I can tell. And does it really matter if it starts off rough?" he asked.

Embry snapped his head to the side to look at Stiles, "what do you mean?"

"Well," Stiles started, "even if their meeting doesn't go smoothly it doesn't really matter. From what you told me about imprints and what Derek told me about mates. He and Leah are made for each other, they're soulmates no matter how they start off their relationship eventually, and hopefully, it'll end great and with love. At least they have someone they know for sure is meant for them and no one else."

"Yeah..." Embry stared at Stiles, "Stiles I need to tell you something."

"Okay, this sounds serious" Stiles commented.

"It is," Embry said, "and I need you not to freak out" he almost pleaded as he twisted to the side to face Stiles.

"And now you're scaring me" Stiles admitted. "Embry, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's just..." he trailed off, "here goes nothing" Embry nervously muttered. "Stiles, you're..."

"I'm..."

"You're my..."

"Your what?"

Embry wanted so badly to just scream it out rip the truth off like a band-aid but it was like he was physically unable to.

"Okay" Embry took a deep breath, "remember when I said I thought I imprinted on someone but my wolf just hadn't caught up to it yet?" he asked trying a different approach to the situation.

"Uh... yeah" Stiles hesitantly nodded.

"Well, my wolf finally caught up."

"It did?" Stiles asked not trying to hide the surprise in his voice but trying to hide the flicker of sadness.

"Yeah" Embry nodded still staring at Stiles with those big puppy dog brown eyes.

"Umm... who is it?" Stiles asked.

"You" it was barely audible to Embry's own ears but Stiles managed to hear it nonetheless.

"Oh, okay" Stiles nodded. His response was calm and relaxed before the information and that one word actually hit Stiles smack in the head his eyes instantly widening, "I'm sorry, what was that...?" he asked.

"Stiles, you're my imprint," Embry said finally coming out with the truth all in one sentence.

Stiles stared at him unmoving. Embry watched and waited, his insides uneasily churning.
