Alyssa's P. O. V

Angie drove us quickly to her mother's place, hands trembling. This was a major case so I understood why she looked like she looked like she had seen tons of ghosts.

The house looked so tattered from the outside as the environment did too. The house was placed in an extremely quiet neighborhood and I figured that was why no one wanted to buy it. One could sense danger from just looking at it.

I held Angie's hand trying to comfort which I'm not good at and she squeezed mine back. I could see the tears tempting to pour out of her eyes.

"We'll find the truth Angie"

"Let's go"

As we walked closer to the house I felt worse like my brain was going to pop open. There was definitely something inside the house.

Without wasting much time we walked into the building. There wasn't any lock so it was easy to enter, then the whole place was so dark and the place was just too dusty almost as tattered as the environment.

"Where do we start from? ", Angie asked me. I looked around and made a mental note to carry a torchlight everywhere I went should in case we were in this kind of condition again. I squinted to scan the room and fortunately it unfortunately my eyes caught something.

"Let's go there", I said to Angie pointing at the door at the far end on our right.

We walked over to the door quietly and it was locked. That didn't make me shocked anyway.

"Step back Alyssa"

What was she planning on doing?

At first i thought she was going to try her muscular strength..which she doesn't really have....

But then she didn't. She brought a hair pin from her hair. I stepped closer to see the magic she wanted to perform with her hair pin. This made me reminiscence about my best friend in school, Sunshine, she told me she had used her hairpin to open up her mom's room to steal chocolate and I didn't believe that was possible.

I watched carefully as Angie unlocked the padlock though she made few struggles she was able to open the door successfully. Instead of meeting a room we met a staircase. "What's a cellar doing in this house", Angie murmured to herself.

Then she turned to me. "Are we sure we're gonna find something down there?"

I was pretty sure but Angie's tone sent the chills down my spine. "Yes"
We walked down the stairs. The further we sent the darker.

"I don't have a good feeling about this Alyssa"

Who had good feelings about dark rooms? "Let's just keep going", I bluntly replied and silently thanked God she didn't oppose.

"Aaaarrrgggh"

"Alyssa!"

Too late. I had hit the ground hard face planting to it. I tried my best not to scream out in pain but that turned out unsuccessful. Angie was beside me in seconds.

"God no! Alyssa we have to get out of here now! "

"I... I...dont think I can move." I think I had hit my ribs hard too.

"Shit." Being a nurse wasn't really helpful at this point because there was nothing around this place that could really help.

"Don't move Alyssa I'll be right back" she warned. I didn't have any reason to move and even if I wanted to that'll be as good as killing myself so I didn't move. Lying on the floor still in pains my hand touched something. I was in pain so I couldn't read it properly but I read the important part at least. The truth that my mom was adopted as a kid.
