CHAPTER NINE: Peace with the Abyss

LESLEY

"Gusion? What are you doing here?". I asked as he just pops out of nowhere. "Just wondering in the woods until I saw you here.". He explained as he sit next to me.

"Alright. . .". This is awkward. "Anyways, How are you doing?". He asked as he plays around the grass on the ground. Weird flex but okay. "I'm fine.". I replied shortly. A purple light suddenly apears and sparkles surrounding ourselves.

This means the war of the abyss has fallen and started to demand a peace trial. Thats just the means of this purple light but why did the atmosphere seemed something. I looked at Gusion who was already smiling at me.

Why does it feel romantic all of a sudden? The hell. I move a little to not be closer at him. He saw my gestures and decided to be quiet and felt the presence of these glowing light.

I cup my hands together as I felt the cold again. "Lesley," he called. "Hm?". I simply replied. "Would you like to pairs?". Uh what now? "I mean, the host was about to ask who would want to be in a event.". He explained and giving me an awkward smile.

He's really so shy to ask that? "What kind of event?". I asked curiously. I mean it depends and why not try, right?

"I still don't know yet but would you like to?". I don't even know if I should trust him or not. I'm always overthinking things but I should be prepared. "I . . . I'll think about it.". I response in a genuinely smile.

"I'll be waiting for you, though Can we atleast be friends?". I guess I'll give him a chance, a chance to understand him more. "Fine, whatever.". I rudely response.

He suddenly stand up and lend a hand. What does he want now? "What--". "Just follow my lead.". I don't want to argue so I did as he says.

He leaned closer at me and kissed my forehead. Uh what the fudge. "H-Hey! stop doing those kinds of things!". I shouted at him and push him away. "Oh come on, I'm sorry.". Wait did he just apologize? Thats new.

I looked at the purple light which was still glowing. I havent realize but Gusion suddenly patted my head and looked closely at my eyes. He think he's going for that trick huh? Lets see about that.

I smiled and touch his cheek. I felt cringe doing this but his reaction will be the prize. I looked at him intently as he did the same. He closed his eyes until I smiled. "Sike." I sheeply said and kick his nuts.

"What the actuall hell?! Your gonna pay for this!". I left him shouting as I ran away happily. What a good evening.

HARLEY

I wonder if they go to Academy as well. "Hey kid.". Granger reffering at me. "What?". I said lazily. "I can't see any similarities between you and your sister.". Wait That came out of nowhere. Oh.

"Your intrested in my sister?". I asked teasingly. Seeing his face with a emotionless look make me frown. Obviously he's intrested in a different way. "Don't get me wrong, kid.". I have a freaking name and yet he still calls me that? Seriously.

"Yes, we quiet don't have the similarities. But our family matters is none of your buisness.". I stated making my serious proud face. Lesley didnt want anyone to know anything about her past.

"Right. I won't go that far.". He replied as he turned his gaze at Harith and Nana. Since when did those two get so close. "Probably turning five years.". Lylia suddenly butt-in, in my thoughts. "What the--". "Just learning a few mind tricks.". She sounded confident.

Glancing at her gestures, she seemed nice to be friends with so why not get to know her more. "So Harley, right?". "Yeah.". I sheepily replied. We talked for a few minutes until My sister marching her way here.

"I can't stay longer here.". She spoke out annoyingly. Geez, what's her problem?

We bid our good byes and went straight back to our rooms.

"What was that about, sis?". I asked out of curiousity. She just turn her gaze at the window facing the moon glowing with a purple light. "Was it Granger who discomfort you?". I asked.

She rolled her eyes at me as always and sighed. "Part of it.". She glanced at the window again and stayed quiet. I didnt bother to ask her some questions so I just wash up myself. We woke up in a cold breeze. We coated ourselves and went to the cafeteria. "Just drop me off here.". I said to my sister.

"Alright kiddo, I'll be late.". Late again? Whatever, I should mind my own buisness. I've headed to my class after that and confront Nana. "Hey Harley!". She greeted me as she smiled. I poke her cheek that made her rolled her eyes.

"When are the others come?". I asked. "They should be here now.". I nod at her.

"Harley, Can we talk?". Harith said and popped out of nowhere. I nod at him and followed him outside the classroom. "So what do you want to say?". I asked as he looks nervous to explain it at me.

I've met Harith since last month but I guess we get along well. "You see ... Nana's birthday are coming up..". Oh right, her birthday is coming up this week. "So you want to celebrate it?". Is that it? "Well yeah, near the Fantasia forest.". He sure knows Nana a lot. "What's the plan?".

After we talked about that for a few minutes and Lylia came up. "I have more ideas if you want.". She suggested, smiling. Wait how did she kno--
"Harley, Have you forgoten about last night?".She asked and wink at me. Harith look at us confusingly.

"Oh yeah," We continued our topic and so on.
