My eyelids flutter open weakly. I look around, I'm underground. I pressume, as it's pitch black. I try to sit up, but I hit my head. I feel around, but I can't reach the area my feet sit in because I have to lay down. For some reason I have a sickly feeling that I'm in a coffin, and I start to panic. I'm loosing air, I feel like I can't breathe but surely I can. I get more desperate for air, and I start to yell. "Hey! Get me out of here! I'm not dead!"
There is a bang, against the wood of the coffin, and another. Dirt comes through the holes in the rotten wood and I cough. Whoever or whatever it is hits again and it vibrates through the box and causes a shiver to run down my spine.
Then I wake up.
I'm in my bed, my head hurts and I feel dizzy. Bright light is streaming in from the window and is blinding my eyesight. I shut the blinds to darken the room. Then everything looks strangely familiar. Extremely familiar. The blue lamp sits on my desk by the window. My blue bed spread and the wardrobe are to the left of my bed. Then images; memory's, flash in my head from last night. A knot turns over in my gut. Where is Sam!? Is she ok!? How did I get here!?
I wriggle out of the tangled blankets to go find Sam. I stumble of the bed, but then my legs had completely shut off, and I collapse. A big bang sounds from my fall.
"Darcy? Are you alright up there?"
"Mum, I can't get up." I start to get worried. I can't move, I can't walk.
"Darcy, stop mucking around!" She calls out.
"Mum, I'm not! I seriously can't get up." I think she heard the edge to my tone because she runs upstairs to find me laying on the floor.
She kneels down beside me.
I feel dizzy again and my head hurts even more. Black dots start to invade me vision, and after a few minutes, I was not awake.
