Chapter 20: The escape route to one's heart

Dijun was rather strange today, Feng Jiu had thought. He even went on a longer route today than usual. Instead of going around Taichen Gong, he even gives her a small tour of the Nine Heavens. But she needs to find an escape plan tonight otherwise she'll be forever in debt.

Bumping into her feet she then notices a table up in the corner.

Huh, it seems like he has a guest.

Turning around he picks her up as they were walking to the table he places her down onto the cushion right in front of him. Reaching in his sleeve he pulls out some wine that he had kept in there for a very long time.

Pouring it down into a glass he then sips it to find the taste more pleasant and sweeter. His sudden urged to drink had made her worried about his health as she places her paw on top of his hand. He smiles as he begins to pour her a glass of it too.

"Do you want to drink little fox?" He asked her as he felt her paw onto his hand. Figure she wanted a pat on the head, his hand had shuffle through her soft fur.

But to his surprise, she had pushed the cup of wine to him and shakes her head.

He smiles as he takes another sip.

Although Feng Jiu can't speak in her fox form, she could only whisper in her mind. Now with the injury, she has to deal with, it will take her quite some time to change into her human form. Last time it was quite easier but since this morning she couldn't even change back.

"Dijun." She said in her mind. "You're worrying me."

Dijun of course couldn't exactly read her mind but his hand begins to stroke the cute little fox as it begins to wag its tail at him. As he leans back onto his chair to have a sip he begins to talk to her as a companion that he needed.

"Little fox, I guess you wanted to know why I drink." He said with a smile as he pours himself another glass. "Don't you drink too when we first met?"

"People only drink if they have sorrow. Dijun, are you sad about something?"

He smiles at her and places down the 2 bottle of wine, he didn't answer her questions instead he summons another bottle of wine in front of him.

"Is been a long time since I drink." He said to her. "The last time I drink there was war. I felt something."

Hearing that Feng Jiu had felt sad for Dijun. Being the master of the universe and all, could it be that lonely to him. Although she didn't know her duty she felt like she had barged too much into his life. She had thought it was because he had hated her presence perhaps he was drinking so he can forget if she was there. 

"The first time I had it, it was bitter." He said to her with a smile. "But this time, even with the same wine it had taste sweeter."

"Dijun is not good for your health if you drink."

Hearing that he had understood what she was saying as he scoops her back into his arms as they were walking back into Taichen Gong. And for the longest hours, Dijun had fallen asleep with her into his arms. When he was deep into his sleep Feng Jiu could finally turn back into her human form. As she lays underneath his feet she gave out a long sigh.

"Dijun." She said to him. "You must think Bai Feng Jiu of Qing Qing has troubled you lately. But truly I don't know how to repay you."

Standing up closer to him she looks into his tired face and her hand softly moves his hair as she touches his forehead she gave out a long sigh. Thank goodness he didn't have a fever.

"Dijun, I'll be leaving soon." She said to him. "And I suppose you won't see me again. Thank you for the short time together."

But before she has the urge to leave, there was a voice inside of her telling her to stay as she sits up onto her knee closer to his face. Looking into his lips she couldn't felt the urge but to kiss him. As she leans closer her nose slightly touches his as their lips were a few inches away, there was another voice that had spoken to her telling her to restrain herself. Afterall, Dijun the most respected deity, how could she treated him such a rude act. As she pushes herself away from him. She had realized what the voice calling was.
