Being a part of the Fire Nation isn't everything it's cracked up to be. Sure we're on the side we don't have to run from. And as of right now we're on the winning side. I don't believe it'll stay that way. We're not good people. Our nation has killed people, destroyed the homes of innocent women and children. My father was ashamed of how me and my sister turned out. He wanted us to be like him, - ruthless and almost heartless. Father has had his mind poisoned by the firelord. My sister, Adelina Water Jones, and I want nothing to do with the evil this nation brings. However, it is difficult to stay away from it, when the guy I like is part of what I'm trying to escape from. The fire lord's son, Prince Zuko, and I practically grew up together. I've liked him for as long as I can remember. We've been close friends for years. I've seen how his father treats him. It's understandable why he is the way he is. His father went as far as to banish him from his own home, after literally burning him, scarring him for the rest of his life. The only way he could return was if he found and captured the Avatar. He says it's the only thing he can do to restore his honor; but I don't believe it. And neither does his Uncle Iroh. Zuko is at war within himself and right now he's losing. I wish I could help him, but I'm not exactly sure how. When he was banished, not only did his Uncle Iroh go with, but my sister and I did as well. Whatever is going on with Zuko I want to be there for him and with him. Zuko is my best friend and I won't let him lose. My name is Chloe Paris Jones, and I will prove that not all firebenders want war.
