Chapter 16

~{A few weeks later}~

Now, I realized something. People talk about me. Not in a good way. More like a horrible making fun and talking meanly about way. I found this about a few days ago, while I was on my phone during lunch.

~{Flashback}~

"Hey Jess look over there. It's that girl again. Wow. She's ugly!", A girl named Lisily, my grade around 15 got held back a lot I suppose, says to a guy named Jess. Jess is in my grade too, same age as Lisily. "Well, rumor has it she has been adopted a few times. But for some reason a band adopted her. A popular band at that. Not sure why they haven't given her back yet..."

I sigh quietly and keep playing a game I have been addicted to called Crossy Road. Then I hear something that made me mad, like something that made me so mad that I almost got out of my seat and beat the heck out of him

"I guess she has an adopted brother too. Named Nathan Kyota or something like that. Sounds Japanese. Anyways, he's ugly too. Remember that one guy with a cast and stuff? I payed his old parents to run him over. They never liked him, so they agreed and hoped it would kill him. Sadly, it didn't. Parents got arrested, but here's the thing. I never told them not to tell anyone I payed them to run him over. Yet, they took the blame.", Jess tells Lisily.

They both start laughing. "Good job dude! Too bad it didn't work!" I had to stop myself from getting up and choking them both.

~{Flashback ends}~

Yep. You don't understand how mad I felt! I wanted to tell Nate so bad! But I couldn't. I have school tomorrow, that's the worst part. Luckily I have Nate with me, right!

~{At school the next day}~

"Alrighty! Brit! Let's goooooo!!", Nate says loudly from the living room signaling its time to go. "Comin'!", I responded and ran to him. He's a bit taller than me, so I have to look up to see him. "Nate! After school we are taking you to the eye doctor! Same with you Brit!", Joe yells from the basement. We both groan, "Ok!!"

"Let's go now! Before they come upstairs!", Nate laughs and runs outside with me following. We walk to school now, since it's getting nicer out. (I wish it was right now. I miss summer and spring..) "So Nate? If you do end up needing glasses, what look will you get?", I ask him "Hmm. MunchingBrotato glasses!" I begin to laugh.

'Should I tell him?', I think to myself. 'I guess I should...' "Nate. I have something to tell you..." I tell him everything.

The look on his face grows dark. "Well then. Should I have a talk with them?", He asks with a low chuckle. "No! No no no!", I quickly say.

He smiles, "Fine I won't. I will listen to you. Just because I love my little sister" I giggle and blush a bit.

I'm still not quite used to all the attention and love I have gotten since I was adopted. And since I met Nate. For some reason, it makes me feel warm and happy. That's a feeling I haven't felt since a guy I used to like hugged me. He ended up being a jerk.

Since then, I haven't really wanted to become friends with any guys. Until now. I have a brother and my family is all guys. But they are the best family I could ask for! Nobody how weird and crazy they are.

~{After school, school was boring}~

"It looks like you both need glasses. Sorry kids", the eye doctor tells us. "Ughhhh", we both whine loudly. "Go pick out frames over there" "It's not that bad guys!", Patrick tells us. He has glasses, but he barely wears them around us. That's too bad though. They look nice on him.

We end up both finding glasses we like right away. Which is good, so we can leave quicker. "Let's go home guys!", Pete says and leaves with us following.
