chapter nineteen: side effects

After all of this drama happened, Noah decided that we should all have a sleepover.

"Girls night!" He squealed, God he's such a dork.

I roll my eyes at his antics, "You're annoying." I giggle a bit and he looks at me, with one swift motion he picks me up and puts me over his shoulder.

"Put me down, Noah!" I laugh as he starts to run towards his car, with Finn, Sadie, and Ari following behind.

Noah throws me in the passenger seat of his car and buckled me in.

"Why thank you, Mr. Schnapp." I giggle and he shakes his head playfully and closes the door.

The other three get into the back, while noah gets in front and starts to drive to his house.

He puts on the Wallows and we all sing together, it was a moment where I forgot about everything. All of the drama I had been through was no where to be found, I held Noah's hand as he looked at me with his bright gleaming eyes. I love this man, so much.

We eventually got to his house, which was HUGE, and had such beautiful land. Out front there were lovely flowers that tagged along the sides of his circle driveway. I'm not sure why I decided to take much attention to this. I guess I just really never noticed how beautiful it was.

We approached his front door as he grabbed his key out of his pocket, walking straight to his backyard where his big pool was. He didn't say anything as we all approached him, he smirked at Finn. Sadie, Ari, and I all looked at each other, then realized.

"No, no, no! I'm still in my dress!" Sadie started to run away and Ari and I ran with  her. Of course I was in last. Noah grabbed me and I completely rag dolled.

"Finn! grab her legs!" He shouts and it's not long before he does.

They carry me to the pool and swing me back and forth a couple times before throwing me in.

"You guys are so dead!" I laugh and wait like not even five seconds before Noah pushes Sadie in and Finn throws Ari.

"Well aren't you guys going to join us?" Ari laughs pulling at Finn's pant leg.

"I'd rather not get my suit wet." Finn chuckled and backed up a bit.

"Are you serious!" I yell at them, "these are our new dresses!"

Noah looks at Finn before screaming, "Cannon ball!" and jumping in. Finn finally gave up and dived in after him.

After what seemed like thirty minutes, we got out of the water, I went up to Noah's room to borrow some of his clothes. I got the clothes on and stared at myself in his mirror. I carefully looked at my features and bent over to put my hair in a bun. When I came back up all of the sudden I started to get dizzy, my mind was racing and I couldn't see straight. It was hard for me to breathe, I was gasping to get air in. I stumbled over to Noah's bed and sat down, gasping for air. I held and clawed at my chest because it started to cramp up, it hurt so bad. I felt like I was going to die on the spot.

"Y/n?" Finn said slowly opening the door.

I tried to talk, but no words would come out.

"Y/n!" Finn said as he ran over to me, kneeling by my side.

I tried to tell him I was okay, but I couldn't speak, so clearly I was NOT okay.

After five minutes of him and I freaking out, it finally stopped.

"What the hell was that?" Finn raised his voice, confused.

Tears filled my eyes, I was in shock and couldn't say anything. I laid my head down on Finn's lap, and he leaned over to hug me.

All I could do was cry. I never really actually thought of what my heart default was capable of. Why is it starting now of all times? I've been taking my medicine, and I haven't been to the hospital in months!

After a few minutes I finally sat up and stared at the wall.

"Please, Finn, don't tell Noah about this." I slowly looked over to him.

"But he has to-"

"I just don't want him to worry, okay?" I say standing up. "I'll be fine."

"Okay," Finn mumbles, and I head downstairs with him following behind.

"Finally, you're here?" Noah complained. "Why were you guys up there for so long?"

"Oh it was nothing," I said while looking down at my feet.

"We're y'all like making out?" Noah nagged at me.

"No! Noah it's fine nothing happened." I added.

"Seriously?" He turned his head at me.

"Fine! wanna know what I was doing? I was ripping my fucking tampon out of my vagina!" I snap.

Noah's eyes widen, "Oh-"

"Sorry," I giggle a bit and go sit down next to Noah, and I grab his hand."

"Okay now I feel like I'm fifth wheeling here." Sadie says as she looks at both of us.

I look over at Ari and Finn who are cuddling.

"So are you guys like a thing now?" Noah questions.

"It's not official," They look at each other and giggle.

"Looks pretty official too me." Sadie mumbles as she looks at Noah and me, fake gagging then laughing.

"So what shall we do now?" Finn asked all of us.

"Bruh I'm going to sleep." Ari said as she closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

"We could watch a movie?" I suggest.

"We always watch movies." Noah complains.

"Okay, but what if it was Teen Beach Movie?" I nudge at him.

"NOW you're talking." Noah shouts and I flinch.

He quickly turns on the movie and I start to doze off.

I think back to what happened earlier, what's gonna happen to me? Am I going to end up back in the hospital? No I just need to relax, I've been getting worked up these past few days and It's been bad for my heart. I'm just gonna take it easy and lay low for a bit.

I mean, after all I've lived nearly 17 years of this shit. I'm kind of tired of it honestly. I just need to keep taking my medicine. I've obviously known these were side effects of my condition, but they've never been this bad.
