Monthly Torture

I wake up to find the dreaded blood stain on my bed.

Why this week? Why not the next?

I stand up and look inbetween my legs.

Yep. More blood, or course.

"Ugh! Why do I have to deal with stupid criminals AND fricking puberty?" I say, as I look over to my nightstand. "Lea! You mind lending me some tampons? I'm all out!"

"Yeah, sure thing! There's still a few dozen left!" she yells back.

I walk into her room and dart over to the nightstand, where I grab the box of leftover tampons. I then sprint to the bathroom to do my business. Once I step out, I notice the loud noise coming from my stomach. I rush to Mika's room to see if she's awake. I didn't want to barge in while she was still sleeping, since it might scare her. She's been having some... weird dreams lately. Sure, she can be annoying, but I'm still her sister.

Once I had reached the doorway, she suddenly yelled out, "THE GNOMES ARE TEAMING UP AGAINST US!"

My ears were ringing.

I look inside, then say, "Now that you're up, make breakfast. I'm starving."

Then came the cramps.

There was a sharp pain coming from my middle section.

I ran down the hall and grabbed Donna's heating pad, which she had made herself. Then, I take  an entire bar of Hershey's milk chocolate. Last, I put the dirty sheets in the washing machine and turned it on. Once I had the new sheets on the bed, I plugged in the heating pad, scarfed down a few pieces of chocolate, and curled up in a position in which I wouldn't leak, waiting for breakfast to be made.

I heard Mika and Donna talking about the TV or something, I was too drowsy to listen.

As I doze off, I imagine someone that would understand my attitude. I'm this case, it's a boy. A boy that looks just like me. Green, with a shell and tattered bandana. We run and laugh, something I would never dream of doing in real life. But my fantasy world fades away when I hear Lea scream,

 "MIKA!!!!!"

I hear her running outside, and I try to sleep.

I succeeded.

Me and the boy kept running, we never stopped.

Until we did.

When he stopped, everything started going black.

 "What's happening?!" I yell.

"You're waking up, Ruby," he replies.

"Can I at least get your name?"

 "Raph."
