Chapter 4: Jealous...?

   I sat at the edge of Appa's saddle, repairing the glider we had found at the temple. It was mostly in tact and only had a few burn marks and holes. We had grabbed several other less damaged gliders to replace some parts. I barely noticed when Sokka pulled out his map and stared to talk. A few minutes into the conversation I heard my name being called. I looked up and around until I realized Aang was the one who said my name. I looked to him a little irratated.

   "Yes?"

   He looked doubtful before saying, "Never mind."

   I shrugged, "Ok." I quickly went back to my work. I heard people start to talk again but this time it had nothing to do with me. They continued to talk until I heard Katara say something about being a girl. Oh no, Sokka must have said something sexist. Like usual. I looked up and listened in.

   "Simple. Girls are better at fixing pants than guys, and guys are better at hunting and fighting and stuff like that. It's just the natural order of things" I rolled my eyes.

   "Sokka, that's not even remotely true."

   "All done with your pants! And look what a great job I did." Katara threw Sokka's pants back in his face.

"Wait! I was just kidding! I can't wear these!" He stuck his hand through a hole in his pants.

"You deserved that!" I laughed.

"Relax Sokka! Where were going you won't need any pants!" Aang pulled Appa into a sharp curve.

We landed and I jumped off of Appa, spinning air underneath me and landing on my feet. I looked around and admired the island we landed on.

"We just made a pit stop yesterday. Shouldn't we get a little more flying done before we camp out?" Sokka complained from behind me. I put on a mock pouting face.

"Sokka you're such a party pooper."

"Hes right. At this rate we won't get to the north poll until spring." I turned to katara and stuck my tongue out at her.

   "But Appas tired already. Aren't you boy?" He looked up at Appa who just sat there, "I said, aren't ya boy?" Appa let out a roar. I giggled a little.

   "Yeah that was reall convincing. Still, hard to argue with a 10 ton magical monster." Sokka looked pretty unamused.

   Aang ran towards the ocean and gasped. "Look!" A giant fish leaped out of the water, "That's why were here. Elephant koi! And I'm gonna ride it." He stripped down to his underwear and I cringed a little. That's a little weird. "Guys you gotta watch me!"

   "Watch you? I'm joining you!" I laughed and jumped in the water, fully clothed and Aang jumped in after me. I am not about to be in my underwear in front of people. No way.

   "Coldcoldcoldcoldcoldcold!" I chanted as Aang yelled the same thing.

   We swam out and under to catch a ride. I grabbed onto one with Aang right behind me.
The giant carp leaped out of the water. I laughed loudly and looked back at Aang who was waving at Katara and Sokka.

   "Hey Aang!" He looked towards me and I jumped onto to his fish, holding on to the other side of it's fin. We both looked around the edge of the fun and smiled at each other. The fish went underwater and jumped back up again. As soon as we hit air we burst out laughing.

Suddenly the other Koi swam away and I heard Sokka yell something. I looked behind me and saw another Elephant Koi get pulled underwater. I gasped and dipped. "I'm out." I yelled and dropped off the fin, swimming away as fast as I could. I got to shore and realized Aang was still on the Koi. We started yelling and waving for Aang to get back. He looked over at us and waved with a huge smile. *cue facepalm*
