"Lani can you stop crying for me please?" I asked her as she stood at my door in her pajamas crying her eyes out. She was mad because I told her she had to stay with Kayden because I had to go to a doctors appointment. It was too early for her to be throwing a tantrum.
"I wanna come!!!" I rolled my eyes, rubbing my eyes getting stressed already. I wanted lani to be apart of the surprise but at this point I had to give in and take her.
"Okay get in the bath and get ready." I picked up my phone, seeing I had less then thirty minutes to get to my appointment. As soon as I said that she lowered her cries to a whimper and started making her way to the bathroom. She was so damn spoiled.
"Y'all can leave, I know midnight told y'all to watch over me but I'm grown." I told KD and Mario as they were both in the living room on their phones.
"Nawl night said we can't leave your sight, you finna go somewhere?" Mario asked me and I slowly nodded.
"Yeah I am with lani and no I'm letting y'all come with me."
"Dat ain't what night told us." Kd said and I smacked my teeth.
"Ion care what that nigga told you cause his ass supposed to be here. Like I said I'm leaving and you ain't following me." I said giving them a mug cause I was finna get real irritated. I went into the kitchen grabbing a yogurt and some Cinnamon Toast Crunch putting it in a ziplock bag. I just hoped lani wasn't going to be picky and say she wanted to eat pancakes. I grabbed my phone calling midnight for the fifth time and it went straight to voicemail. I was really big on people keeping their word, so the fact that he wasn't was really blowing me.
"I'm done ari!" I heard lani running down the steps, I looked at her attire making sure she looked presentable. I had wrapped her hair in a silk wrap so everything was laid. "Ari can we go to the Cheesecake Factory?" Lani said opening the fridge.
"Right now? ....no."
"Why not?"
"Cause I have to get a check up. It's an appointment and I'm almost late."
"Awl okay, okay. Then let's get the move on." She punched her straw in her Jammer kool-aid walking off into the foyer.
"Okay I'm gone. It's food in the fridge, it's leftovers." I said grabbing my purse and my keys. I could feel Mario eyes on my backside as I bent down to tie lani shoes correct. I had known him for less then 48 hours and I already knew he was a flirt.
"Man move around." I heard Kd say and I looked back at them confused. Kd had a agitated face while Mario looked chill.
"What's up wit' y'all."
"Nun man, just leave." Kd said dismissing me, throwing some M&Ms in his mouth.
"Okay rude much." I said rolling my eyes, before leaving out for my appointment.
"I want to go to the cheesecake." Lani said once more as we left out of the waiting room and into the room. My doctor was Dr. Aggie. She been seeing me for the longest. I usually come here for check ups so I knew she was going to be surprised about the news.
" hello Miss simmons." She said walking in and shaking my hand, she always kept it professional.
"Hello Dr.aggie."
"And who is this little lady."
"My uncle is her boyfriend, but I'm her real friend too." Lani said and I chuckled looking at the ceiling. Even Aggie started laughing.
"Okay what's your name?"
"Laylani but you can call me lani."
"You're full of life miss Lani." She said shaking hands with her. I connected Lani's iPad with my data so she could watch her YouTube shows.
