" you finally getting the hang of things I see." Tasha, a regular costumer said nodding as I finished the ladies hair and she smiled shaking her newly installed frontal sew-in.
" thank you so much ari."
" you welcome girl anytime." I told her as I watched the door open and a little precious girl walked in with a man behind her who's head was tucked in his phone but the tattoos that was covered on his neck and legs I knew who it was. That rose tattoo.
" Midnight" I said not tryna be loud but he didn't hear me but the lil baby did and she tugged on his sweatpants causing him to look up. He looked at me causing a big smile to appear on his face and I gave him a small wave. The girl walked to Jamie the girl who owned the salon, I assumed she had an appointment.
" wassup lil bit?" He bent down giving me a hug. He smelled so good.
" nothing." I shyly said.
"NoThInG?" He mocked me making me giggle. I was so fucking shy.
"You work here na?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yes, I got a felony on my hands so I just can't be working anywhere." I said biting my lips as he sat in my spinning chair and he refused to fit.
"Your ass is to fucking big to fit in here." I said and he chucked standing up.
"Come on ride wit me right quick." He said and I looked at what I was wearing.
"No I look a hot mess." I said rubbing down my hair and he shook his head.
"You straight, it's not goin take that long." He said and I nodded as I went to grab my stuff in the back and I came back as he was whispering something to the little girl. They looked alike.
"Your daughter?"
"Nah. My niece. Night don't got no kids." He said with a chuckle.
"Y'all look alike."
"Yeah, I get that shit a lot."
"So where you taking me?"
"Ion know, I just wanted to be wit you." He said making me smile. " Haven't seen yah ass in forever. How you been doin?" He asked me as I climbed into his truck and I sighed.
"It's been ight. I left Tad because I wasn't finna deal with that so I had to go. And that meant getting job, finding a home and stuff like that."
"You been Straight wit that shit?" He asked me and I bit my lip.
"Yeah...everything Gucci." I said. " it's not the best of places but it's better then them four corners." I said with a little chuckle. I looked up to him seeing he was looking at me and I playfully rolled my eyes.
"What?"
"What?"
"You the one staring."

" they always are." " you still working upstate." I asked him and he laughed shaking his head.
" yeah I dipped. Three days after you did." He said and I shook my head cause my prediction been right from the beginning.
" see I already knew everything." I said looking at my phone and I bit my lip.
"Okay night I have to go cause my next client is coming."
" awl shorty is booked and busy." He said and I laughed.
" shut up. You annoying as hell." I said hitting his arm cause he was still on his regular bullshit.
"When I'm finna see you again?" He asked me and I shrugged. "Don't do dat." He said staring at me and I bit my lip looking the other way.
"I really don't know, I kinda work every second so I don't know." I said and and he looked around his car grabbing a pen and then looking for some paper so he peeled off a hundred out of his stack writing his number on before handing it to me and I slightly shook my head. I took out my phone typing his number in and giving it back to him and he chuckled.
"Why you like this?" He asked and I giggled.
"Cause you tried to be slick with it, I promise you I'm good." I said as I leaned over giving him a hug.
"Call me Ight?" He said put his fingers to his ear making a fake phone and I nodded as I opened the doors.
"I will bye night!"
