I woke up with a big ass headache and when I looked over I saw Kai wasn't in her pin, so I assumed she was with her dad. It was officially my birthday and I was officially 21. It was supposed to be a big celebration but I was feeling shitty and annoyed still from last night, I just wanted to sleep the whole day away.
"Go shawty! It's ya birthday! Go shawty! It's ya birthday." I heard Lani sing as she busted in the room with balloons and I started laughing cause she was funny as hell.
"It's your birthday! Ari get up!" She said as she started jumping on my bed and pulled the covers off of me. "Oh shit, I'm sorry." She said as she noticed I wasn't wearing clothes and she quickly covered me.
"You always cussing, that's why you don't need to do that. But thank you baby, I love you."
"I love you too. Can I have some of your cake?" She asked and I giggled nodding.
"It's early though, you sure."
"Yes I want some now. Can you cut it for me?"
"Yeah, where everybody else?"
"In the kitchen, you always sleep in. Minus my uncle he snoring on the couch." I shook my head at her and remembering about our petty ass fight, the reason why he slept on the couch.
"Give me a minute I'm finna put some clothes on." I said to her and she nodded, running out the room. The girl had so much energy, made me rethink about letting her get some cake this early. I decided on washing my face and brushing my teeth before I put on some shorts and a tank top. I placed my slippers on my feet and I made my way downstairs. In the living room was a crawling Kai who looked so big, I swear I just had her yesterday. Night who was now awake scrolling through his phone. He had his shirt off and his face held a angry mug but that was just his resting face.
" happy birthday." He said without even looking up and I rolled my eyes on accident. I tend to scoff at everything Night say because I don't take him serious.
"Thank you." I said picking up Kai and we started walking into the kitchen. She started babbling and I laughed, taking a seat at the counter and putting her on my lap.
"Cas what you cooking up?"
"Everything you can dream of. Just know I had a lil help."
"Help as in they cooked the whole meal?"
"You know....I had a lot going on last night so...yeah." She gave me a look and I laughed cause she was hinting at her and chop having sex.
"You nasty girl."
"I get it from you, let's not even go there with mrs wanna be innocent."
"Let's not becauseeee..."
"I'm still at zero kids honey."
"Oh my gosh Cassie you a trip but that's not on me. If you fucked with a person who demanded sex all the time you wouldn't even be talking."
"Girl I know, my ex was like that too. Turned my lil ass out. Dick was too bomb, dick had me going crazy. And then I went to jail for capital murder but that's another story." She said making me laugh and Kai starting laughing too causing me and Cassie to start laughing.
"Girl what you laughing at?" I asked her tickling her making her laugh. "You need to eat some before you start acting crazy." I said looking at the time and decided to give her some baby food. I got up from the counter with her still on my hip and went to my bag taking out her food. I grabbed her infant spoon before sitting her in her high chair.
"What's the move today sis?" Chop came in giving me a side hug and I shrugged.
"I just wanna go shopping."
"Ight I gotcha." He said placing a stack on the table beside me and kissing Cassie, giving her some money too. I adored their relationship and even though it was rocky in the beginning they managed to make it work. I envied they relationship in a good way, they were perfect together.
"Who let ha get sum cake this early?" Night asked with Lani trailing behind him with a plate of cake in her hand.
"The cake ower herself while you tryna do allat."
"Really finna smack the fuck outta you with that slick ass mouth."
"I'm just saying." She replied shrugging her shoulders. "Hey kai Kai." She said coming up to the high chair and Kai started blabbering and acting wild with her hand movements.
"When she goin' start talking? Say nigga."
"Lani get away from my child, she not finna' be bad like you." I told her shaking my head.
"Nigga ain't a bad word, unless you white. Right night."
"Yeah."
"Of course you goin' agree but that's not a word a 7 year old should be using. Time out for 10 minutes thank you." I told her and she started huffing but walked to the corner and stood there. I shook my head as I continued to feed Kai until she got full and I could feel Night's eyes on me the whole time. It was most definitely tension, so thick you couldn't even cut it with a knife.
"Somebody got you something." Cassie spoke as she left out the kitchen and came back with a bag in her hand.
"Who is it?" I said looking at the tag on the bag and I smiled remembering him but I then stopped knowing who was in the room.
"Damn that's crazy."
"Unt unt night don't start. Not today."
"Ain't nobody starting nothing. Niggas sending her gifts and shit."
"Night please go suck a fat dick."
"Nawl that's all you, literally." I scoffed rolling my eyes cause he knew how to ruin my mood. I opened the box seeing the Rolex symbol and I shook my head. Seeing the pink face with the diamonds dancing, made me think about what night had did to him. My guilt slowly came back as I closed the box once again.
" I thought a nigga who couldn't get his bitch back said sum." I said rolling my eyes and he gave me a side eye.
"Act like I ain't just crack you two days ago."
"Night what the fuck, what the fuck is wrong with you? Like I deadass don't like how you be talking to her. Like she ain't the mother of your child. And Ari, why is you fucking this man after he done put his hands on you, in front of y'all child." I looked away not saying anything cause I knew she was right. She just didn't understand the weakness that had came over me.
"Okay I'm so stupid, I know that already. You don't have to remind me everything single day."
"No cause this situation yall got going on is actually disgusting. Literally. I love both of y'all to death but y'all so negative."
"Yeah cause you so positive." Night scoffed as he slyly grabbed my present and I snatched it back.
"Who the fuck got you that?"
"None of your business. Like leave me alone." I told him grabbing the bag and put Kai to my hip, trying to exit the kitchen. I was done with everything even Cassie, even though it was her being one hundred I was still salty.
"Where you going?"
"Finna mind my business damn! The fuck.....stop worrying about me and what the fuck I do." "Hoe ass bitch."
"Bitch you goin' cum slob on this hoe ass dick."
"Bitch ya mammy, damn....forget you don't know gal."
"Damn sis you low as hell."
"So I don't give a fuck, this nigga talks to me reckless every fucking day."
"Nawl let Ha keep talking, I ain't stressing over no bitch that I ain't never met, nor a bitch who is known fa being slow." Night retorted back and I grabbed the salt shaker ready to throw it but chop pulled me back, Taking Kairi out my hands.
"At this point, I'm finna go home. I'm not finna' sit here and take this on my fucking birthday." I was now in tears and storming off in the bedroom. I was just over everything to be honest.
