"Happy baby, smile for mommy." I said taking some pictures of my pretty baby. She would start smiling but then put on her rest face. When she wasn't smiling she looked mean as hell like her damn daddy. It didn't make sense how she look just like midnight, I didn't see not one feature that belonged to me and it bothered me a lot.
"Lookin like your bitch ass daddy." I shook my head laughing at myself cause I was so messy. It had been a week since I seen midnight because he was on business. I didn't even care anymore, at this point I just wanted to get away from him. I was starting think we were real toxic for each other but neither one of us wanted to let go. I loved him so much even before Kairi was here. I just didn't see myself living without him but I was starting to think all good things come to an end. I would never in a million years think that I would ever put my hands on him and him to actually hit me. It was crazy....I still loved him though.
"Ahhhhhhh uuuhhhh" Kai said putting her hand in her mouth and I laughed kissing her cheek.
"What you saying mamas?" I was so in love with my girl. "Why you lookin like that? Stop looking so mean." I zoomed on her face taking a picture and all I could do was laugh. I sent it to Cassie cause ain't no way she just came out here looking just like midnight.

My smile went away as I called her on FaceTime sitting Kairi in my lap as I breastfed her.
"Girl you be watching the news and shit?" She asked me and I shook my head. "Hm well you know Kimani? He just got shot ." I scrunched my face and then I started feeling guilty.
"Is he okay? What the fuck?"
"Nawl girl he's dead. He was in critical condition but he passed. This shit so crazy."
"Literally Cassie you can't tell anyone. I was with him a week ago and night showed up at the restaurant and I don't know, I think night did it. It was so bad Cassie."
"Damn, what I tell you about getting involved with him?"
" I know I just be wanting to make new friend-"
"Ari don't even start with that bullshit. You know night don't like Kimani so why would you even go out with him."
"Okay I was stupid I know, you don't have to keep reminding me."
"No I really do because you don't listen. I actually liked Kimani, you know as a person."

"Hm." I replied, scoffing. Cassie knew the half of everything, what really went down that night.
"When I'm getting sis though?"
"Ion know, I've been tryna spend the most time with her, I feel like everybody been having her."

"You can't tell night nothing, that's his lil' twin. "
"His ass be tryna show her off to everybody when we out."

"So I carried her." I looked down seeing she was sleep so I put my breast back in my bra before laying her in her baby bed that rocked back and fourth . I sat there looking at her and smiled cause she was everything I could dream of me.
In the midst of me day dreaming, I saw midnight was trying to FaceTime but I declined.
"Girl who calling you?"
"Baby daddy"
"So pick up."
"No we not on talking terms."
"As always."
"Boo. He's calling again, lemme call you back."
"Okay girly." As soon as I answered night call he was on a ten.
"Fuck you not answering for?"
"I was doing something, what you want."
"I wanna see Kairi."
"She sleep."
"Tf? So I still wanna see her." I rolled my eyes seeing he wanted to FaceTime and I answered flipping the camera.
"Wake her up."
"No you a damn lie." I said and he chuckled before clearing his voice.
"Imma call you though." I didn't even respond I just waited till he hung up. Seems like he didn't even walk talk to me no more. He would call everyday just to check up on Kairi, not once would he ask how I was doing. I really didn't give a fuck but at the same time I did. I was just used to shit bring totally different.
