You and Akaashi are best friend. You will help him when he is down and vice verse. You're happy when he is happy and you're sad when he is sad. He is someone you can depend on with whatever problem you have and because of this, your heart was also taken by him. You like his consideration but one thing that you knew, he is like that with everyone. You're just a friend in his eyes, nothing more than that. You knew it when he shows you his phone gallery.

"Akaashi, what are you doing?" you asked him before sitting beside him. He smiled at you.
"I am looking at this" he showed you his phone.
"Isn't that the picture of Hana?" you asked him.
"Yes, I think I have a crush on her" his reply makes your heart drop.
"You...have a crush on Hana?" he nodded.

"She is your friend, right? Can you introduce me to her?" you control your expression and smile at him.
"Sure, how about tomorrow?" he took your hand and smile.
"Thank you, (y/n). I owe you for this." you bit your lip, to make sure you don't tears up right now.

Ringggg~

"Time to go now. The practice is waiting" you nodded but you keep sitting there.
"Aren't you coming with me?" Akaashi asked.
"Oh, I have something to do first. I will come later" you smiled at him and he nodded before leaving you alone.

As soon as Akaashi is not in your view, a little laugh coming out from your mouth. You remember your conversation with Bokuto last year.

"(y/n), you like Akaashi, right?" you looked at Bokuto with your wide eyes.
"H-How did you know?" Bokuto smile at you.
"I can see how your eyes are when you look at him" you blinked your eyes.
"How did I look?"

"Someone in love?" Bokuto laughed but that makes you blushed so hard.
"Bokuto-san, can you please keep this as a secret? I don't want to ruin my friendship with Akaashi"
"(y/n), sometimes we have to take a step forward to achieve what we want or we will regret it later" Bokuto patted your shoulder and leave you alone.

"Bokuto-san, it looks like I l have to take a step backwards now" your eyes can't hold your tears anymore. You let yourself crying for a while and then you took a deep breath before wiping your tears. A smile appeared on your face and you walked to the gym.
"I will be happy if he is" you convinced yourself and when you arrived at the gym, you saw Akaashi's standing in front of it.

"Why are you standing here?" you asked him.
"I am waiting for you, of course."
"Why?" You wished he will stop this part of him.
"Habit?" you chuckled.
"You have to stop this habit if you want Hana to like you. She is easy to get jealous even though I am just a friend to you" you smiled at him before walked past him.

"We are best friend though" he walked to you and said it.
"Boy" you pointed at him. "Girl" then you pointed at yourself.
"What do you think of it?" you asked him and that makes him speechless. You patted his shoulder before walking to the coach and start your duty as the manager of the team.

That night you got a lot to think especially about Akaashi and Hana.

"Hana is a pretty girl. She's also kind and lovely. Everyone like her. Compare to me, we're totally far apart. Of course, Akaashi will like a girl like her" you sighed and closed your eyes.

"(y/n)! Don't give up! Why did you let yourself down like this?!"
"Fight for your love!"
"You knew Akaashi better than anyone. You should be the one with him!"

The voices of your heart started to speak up.

~ The next day ~

"Hana, do you know Akaashi?" you asked your friend, Hana aka Akaashi's crush.
"Yes, the volleyball team's setter, right?" you nodded.
"He asked me if he can be your friend" she surprised but then she smiled.
"Of course. Why not?" she nodded.
"So, do you want to have lunch with me and him?" she nodded.
"Good then. See you at lunchtime"
