"JAY! WAIT!" Ash my best friend yelled as he ran after me. I giggled and looked behind me. His brown hair was flopping everywhere and his long legs was no match for my werewolf speed. I sped up and raced towards our tree, he huffed behind me and sped up.

I skid to a stop by the tree and touched the rough bark on the trunk. I turned around with a smug smirk, flipping my hair over my shoulder dramatically.

"I beat you Ash!" I did a happy dance, he caught up to me and leaned against the tree. He shook his head in disbelief, gasping in the cold evening air.

"I thought... we agreed... no wolf speed." He said in between pants. I breath in deeply to calm my racing heart, looking up at Ash with a grin.

"Well, I forgot. Sorry." I said honestly, he pulled me into a hug. I loved his hugs, they were always so warm and comforting. Wrapping my arms around his waist, I relax into him with a gooey smile.

"It's fine, Jay. Just make sure to not do it again." He scolded me, I nod. His shirt was so soft! Hearing distant calls for us to come home, I perk up.

"Mom's calling! We have the movie and sleepover tonight, remember?" I tell him, he nods with a smile.

"Let's walk back and make Sam, Matt, Blade, and Max wait." I exclaim deviously, he laughs and grabs my hand.

We walk calmly back and find Mom and Dad glaring at our walking forms. I smile lazily at them. "Hey, Mom and Dad. How are our friends?" I ask with a silly smile, she huffs and holds back a smile of her own.

"Their raiding the kitchen. Go and put on the movie after you get ready for bed." She orders, tying her black hair that I inherited from her up into a messy bun. I bowed mockingly before running inside.

"Jaiyana Ranger! Stop being disrespectful!" She yells, I just stifle a laugh and run up to my room. My sister Kylee found her mate a couple years ago, his name is Ryan and he's really nice. He helps me with my homework and he tries to spend some time with me.

"Jay!" Kiko called down the hall and raced over to me. He's twenty-five and his mate loves to play football. Kiko is a runner, and his mate's name is Mark and he's a bit cocky but he's nice. Kiko is like a brother to me and Leo is like another grandpa, but sadly he died last year two weeks after my ninth birthday. Keaton moved to the edge of our territory and doesn't venture out much unless for his duties.

"Yeah?" I ask with a fake innocent smile, batting my eyelashes at him.

"Why did you wake Mark up with a hand full of shaving cream?" He asks me, quirking an eyebrow up. I giggle, looking up at him with an innocent smile.

"Because it was funny! Did you see his face? Man, it was so funny!" I laugh, fall on the ground and rolling with laughter. He shakes his head in disbelief, rubbing his face.

"No more pranks. I mean it, Jaiyana. It's going to get you in trouble one day." He sighs, I sobered up a bit and nodded solemnly.

"Okay, I'll stop. Well, I have to go Kiko! Bye!" I say and hurry into my room. The walls always stayed a dark green, but my bed is now a full with a nice leaf green comforter but I'm thinking of asking to redo my whole room. Maybe I'll take Kylee's old room. I head into my closet and put on my puppy pajama's and brushed my mid-back length hair.

My hair was black and my eyes forest green like my mom's. Asher had sky blue eyes and light brown hair that was always messy.

I rush downstairs with may favorite white, fluffy blanket and launched myself at Ash. He fell backwards from my weight as I laughed. His head hit the armrest on the couch, making me wince as he groans in pain. I stop laughing as shock flashed across my face, worry entering my veins.
