Xavier's POV
*After school the next day*
As the bell rings, I walk over to my car and my thoughts inevitably lead to Lavender. I don't know why but lately she's been plaguing my mind.
It's been a minute since I've really spoke to Lavender and honestly, I'm kind of concerned. She may always have something to say about me but if I have to be honest, I can't say I mind it as much as I should.
Whenever I do see her in school, she looks so focused that like I don't even want to dare interrupt her. She'd probably bite my finger off if I even thought of poking her.
And even after school she always rushes to leave. I suppose it's just a habit of hers, being the one and only off-spring of two very popular multi-millionaires.
"Hey Jacobs!" I hear a new friend of mine yell just as I pull put of my parking space.
"Tyler! What's up man?"
"I just heard that Kylie Morris is having a party tomorrow night, you coming?"
"Tomorrow night huh? I'll have to double check for any plans then since we're still waiting for the couch to arrive but I'll let you know as soon as possible, that sound good?"
"Yeah totally. But bro, if I would really try to make it if I were you, Kylie and her friends are very easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean. And, I hear her parents just finished renovating their pool." Tyler waggles his eyebrows.
I chuckle. "I'll definitely keep that in mind, but sorry man, gotta go. My mom mentioned that she would be making her signature spicy chicken tenders today and I am not going to miss out on that."
At that Tyler laughs and mumbles something about bringing him a piece tomorrow as he leaves. Hah. As if.
I didn't even give Ashton my last piece when he "broke" his wrist. What a diva. What happened that day was that he scratched his wrist on a loose nail in our treehouse and ended up wrapping it like crazy to make it seem like it was broken.
Needless to say, mom wasn't very enthused. Don't get me wrong, ever since Ash came and explained his situation to my family and I, we greeted him with open arms and treated him like our own. He just likes to really overreact to things in hopes that he gets his way.
Though my thoughts are cut off when I notice that my car starts to slow down and won't accelerate when I push on my gas pedal.
"The f*ck is going on?" I mutter.
Unfortunately, all my last minute attempts at regaining my speed were without success. So I just decided to pull my car over into the curb and try to figure out what was wrong.
After opening the hood and poking and prodding a bunch of random things I probably shouldn't mess with, I knew that I, was in deep sh*t. Worse, I probably won't make it for the chicken tenders. Truly heartbreaking, I know.
"Hey, you need help over there?" I hear from behind me.
