Twenty seven

"Oh my god! Galing ng sperm ng asawa mo!"

Reese touched Ellie's tummy kahit hindi pa naman obvious dahil sabi niya, almost 9 weeks palang. I saw Matthew tapped Ellie's shoulder. Wala kasi ang asawa niya ngayon dahil nasa ibang bansa pa pero hindi naman doon nakabase.

"Sana hindi lumaking tarantado kagaya ng nanay." Biro ko naman.

"Matthew, anakan mo na nga 'tong si Thea." Ellie exclaimed, obviously trying to piss me off.

Sinamaan ko ng tingin si Ellie. I saw Matthew's face turn red dahil sa kahihiyan. Kahit ako ay nahihiya na sa mga sinasabi nila. We started drinking except for Ellie, of course.

"Kumusta naman sa hospital, Doc?" Henley asked Matthew. Nasa iisang table kami at nag-uusap. Well, sila lang. It seems like they are having a little catching up here.

"It's okay. Konti ang patients ko today so I was able to come here."

Umirap ako. Sana pala sa susunod laging marami ang pasyente niya. Para naman busy siya.

"I actually had this patient who ran away after her x-ray." He told them.

Agad akong napatigil at tinignan siya. Nakita ko namang nagpipigil ng tawa ang mga kaibigan ko since I told them that embarrassing moment.

"Really? Baka type ka." Pagsisimula ni Reese. "O type mo?" Kinikilig pa siya.

Tinignan ko si Matthew at hinihintay ang sagot niya. Napaiwas rin ako agad ng tingin dahil sumulyap pa siya sa akin bago sumagot.

"Type ko." Diretsong sagot niya. Rinig na rinig ko ang sabay sabay na hiyaw nila Reese.

Mabuti nalang at umiinom kami ngayon. I have an excuse for my face getting red already.

"Akala ko nag-engineering ka pa rin." Rave tried to ask that topic casually, obviously trying to be mindful of what happened before.

"Oo nga. Nabalitaan nalang namin, nasa America ka na pala." Tanong rin ni Henley.

"I had change of plans. But I eventually loved RadTech and proceeded to med school." 

There was so much passion in his eyes while talking about his profession. I'm happy that he loves what he does right now. He's successful now in his chosen field.

We spent the night talking about the years that had passed. Hindi nga lang ako masyadong nagsasalita dahil hindi ako kumportable kaya nakikinig lang ako sa kanilang lahat. Dahil nga hindi pwedeng mapuyat si Ellie, we decided to go home before 10PM.

"Ingatan mo puso mo, sis." Henley winked at me before entering their car. Tumawa lang si Rave at kumaway sa amin bago umalis.
