I blink, awake, I'm in another memory, this one is probably the worst, I stand next to my mother, sobbing, my brother, Jackson, dead. They couldn't explain who killed him, with what, or why, but all they know is that he left his mother, father, 14 year old sister and 16 year old sister, standing together, crying, he was 15, apparently he was coming back from the library, and someone killed him, they found him a little ways off, in an ally, and on the ally wall in writing with his blood was
"Things are changing, beware, the Flare"
They suspect that our brother had a bad thing called the Flare, and he killed himself, but you never know, anyway, I was crying on my mothers shoulder, she was patting my shoulder for comfort, that's when the sirens went off, telling us that something bad, terrible, and horrifying, was about to kill us all, in our little town in Louisiana.

Opening my eyes, I instantly felt the pain of blinding sun, I was laying down, still in the maze, 'why am I here?' I think, wouldn't Thomas come and save me? Brushing off my pants, I felt horrible, I glance down at my skin and felt the urge to throw up, my skin was a slight green color, and layered with my own blood, I look at my thigh, where I got stung, to see green/red stuff ooze it of it, I bite my lip hard, which made it worse, the metallic tang of blood hit my taste buds, and I threw up, crouched over, vomiting, one hand to the wall, I start to cry, I'm lost, in a maze, throwing up, stung by a griever, this was terrible, oh, not to mention that I now remember my terrible memory. Once I finished throwing up, I look where I was lying, the ground was pooled with greenish sticky stuff, it's the stuff the Grievers have on them, I was about to collapse again when I noticed something, a machete pointing right and green footprints, leading a way into the maze "Thomas" I whisper, my voice sounded hoarse, I stood up shakily, and stumbled forwards, one step at a time, until I reached the machete, grabbing it, I used it kind of like a cane to help me walk and followed the green footprints. Once the footprints start to fade, my head felt lightheaded and dizzy, I turn and throw up, I started trembling a little while ago, and I felt weak, my stomach felt empty, and my eyelids felt like they were about to collapse over my eyes, I saw the footprints run out, I would guess that the way was just straight head and to the left, it seemed familiar. I walked all the way to the turn, and once I turned the corner, I saw the walls, but they were closed, I look up, they shouldn't be closed, it was only mid-day! "Hello?" I try to shout, but the only thing that comes out is a hoarse croak, groaning, I lean against the wall and close my eyes, well, I made it, but to die right outside.

I wake up and open my eyes, the walls are open, but it's early morning, I crawl into the glade "help" I say, but I make it halfway into the glade and collapse, exhaustion over taking my body, my lip starts to tremble and tears roll down my bloody and dirty cheeks, I lay there for what seems like forever when the first one up comes out, they don't see me "help!" I say in my loudest voice, and I push myself up, my muscles screaming in protest, the boy turn his head "Allie?" He gasps, running towards me, as he comes closer I realize it's Alby "Medjacks!" His voice calls across the glade, it seems to awake a lot of people up, and they see me, they shout things, the Medjacks come and gasp at the sight they see, a trembling girl, skin green and red, one leg oozing green, her eyes wild with fear, she smells like vomit, a bad, scary sight, they yell something, and a few boys come and help Cary me to the Medjacks room, and that's when I black out for what seems like the 100th time.
