TW; insecurity
They walk slowly, head down and hands in their worn out jean pockets, afraid that the world will see them how they look at themselves in the mirror. Worried about all of the stares that they're probably receiving they cover themselves up more: their hoodie being placed over their head. Their ashamed of what they have become, it's only a one way system, others say the love them, but they highly doubt it. They're worn out after promise after promise being broken: after so much pain that are practically suffocating on it.
Some people say that they will go to hell, others laugh at them at tell them they aren't worthy of life, so maybe they do deserve to die, people would most definitely be happier without them here, it's only natural, right? They look in the mirror and what others see is completely different, but the same in a way that can't be described.
They are loved. They are worthy. But they don't see that, its impossible for them to with the way they've been told all their life that they're nothing here. Never will be anything more than an invalid person living a life they don't want. They're asked constantly by people if they're okay, and they say they are. But truth be told, they are collapsing in on themselves again, over and over like a wave drowning them in their own emotions.
It will be okay though, right? Just gotta hold on for what is yet come. Just sticking around is all that matters, but at what cost?
They're so incredibly insecure of their whole body that they shut people out once they get too close, they probably weigh more than their friends, after everything their confidence is below zero and no matter how many times you say they look okay, or how many times you reassure them they're never going to believe it because of their mindset.
They're afraid of what you think about them.
Authors note:
Nothing is ever good enough for people, confidence is a thing that grows but when you're surrounded by assholes who put you down for looking the way you are, it falls.
Confidence is like a sandcastle, you build it up, and then one shithead steps on it, destroying it.
We have to believe those who tell us if we can't see it for ourselves. You're amazing, and you're beautiful the way you are
Unfortunately, some cannot understand that (like myself) so, with that, we have to learn to love ourselves too.
