Tammie clutches the soaking wet watch on her right wrist trying to wipe away the rain drops that have fallen harshly onto the glass face; two minutes past three, she curses under her breath, she was late again the fourth time this week. Problems just keep adding up for her to deal with, first her grandpa dies, then the man who lives above her apartment decides to flood his flat, leaving her apartment now also damp and partically flooded with a collapsed ceiling above her bed, and now this again.

It always comes in threes, Tammie thinks as she ponders just calling in sick, but that's inhumane, what if she actually does get sick and then realises she's used up all of her sick days? She sighs and shakes her heavy head, too full of grief and anxiety to process the lorry that seems to be moving so fast and without care, Tammie however is too lost in her thoughts about the funeral to notice the lorry nearly crashing into her petite body.

But like every story about love, there always is someone to save the damsel in distress, right? Wrong. The strong man pushes into her fragile body with all of his strength, barely even hurting himself while he manages to pull Tammie onto his broad chest and throwing himself onto the gravel floor below. Tammie hears a high pitched whistle of the lorrys breaks, but by the time she hears that she's already on top of the strange man that saved her pathetic life.

Tammie manages to catch the man sighing before he pushes her off his sweaty body and gets up, mumbling a "fucking idiot" before Tammie is forced to pull herself up while her body shakes with adrenaline and anxiety, she trembles viciously as she brushes herself off and looks towards the man, who rolls his eyes and walks away carefree and unconcerned. She stands there stunned and glances around, still and frozen in her shoes Tammie finally catches up to her bearings: she understands what has happened to her, the fourth thing that has changed her view on the world, the fourth thing that has effected her mentally and physically.

She can barely comprehend what happens next as the same man walks back to her, his hands deep in his hoodie pockets as he shakes his head and mumbles out to her aggressively, "You're coming with me, and there is no room for a 'no' as an answer" by this time, Tammie is trembling all over, her short legs can only just move as she feels numb and scared. She isn't injured, she's caught off guard by everything that has happened in the last 18 hours. Not wanting to risk something happening to her, Tammie complies with the strange man waiting for her.

It's not until about twenty minutes into their walk that the man starts to speak, "I'm Ren" but when Tammie starts to add her name he says it for her, "You're Tammie Thomson, aged 23, you work for well quite a shit company but we can see past that and acknowledge your family instead-" Ren doesn't get to finish as Tammie gathers up the courage to cut him off, "My family have nothing to do with you!" He rolls his eyes at her and replies, "The Thomsons are one of the wealthiest families in the city, which makes you a target for people that want that money- unless of course you have some sort of kink for getting into accidents?" It catches her off guard again and  when she struggles to reply he laughs, his hands still in his pockets, "Your Grandpa recently died, he left an incredible amount of money to you- including his estate" Tammie is confused, her grandpa didn't own an estate, and he definitely didn't have any money to give to her, he died poor and lower class. She stops dead in her tracks and  stares at Ren, bewildered and astonished.

"My grandpa never had an estate, what do you want with me and making up lies?" She asks Ren who looks at her with a certain glint in his eye, he realises that Tammie is more in danger than they originally thought. "Tamsin, I can understand your confusion but we need to get going-" he turns around to see Tammie when his eyes dart to the people behind them both, "quickly please" he adds, not wanting Tammie to be more scared of her endangerment. Luckily for them a dark blue BMW pulls up in front of them and the door flies open to the back seat, Ren grabs Tammies cold hand and drags her into the car with him, closing the door as the bullets start to fly carelessly from the stalkers that were following them before.
