A/N: I am so sorry for the delay, my kits! Road work nearby my house led to broken wires underground, which led to my house's wifi getting shut off for a week straight. I couldn't post chapters for this or A Vacation, or even work on chapters for them, which broke my heart. Really glad to be back now that that's all over, so I hope you enjoy the new chapter as much as I do!
First day living at Heights Alliance is a go! First up? Getting her costume overhauled...
Ayami woke up in her dorm room, shocked but almost comforted staring around at the newly completed room. She stood up, stretching, as she went to get ready for the day.
Once changed into her uniform and the dreadfully uncomfortable brown clogs UA provided her with, Ayami headed downstairs and joined everyone for breakfast. Even though it was their first morning together, the way they smiled and easily invited each other to sit and eat seemed like they had been doing it forever.
The ginger made her way to the kitchen, fixing up a quick batch of pancakes for herself and the leftovers for whoever else wanted them, adding chocolate chips and a bit of honey in the batter before pouring it into the pan and waiting.
Ayami took her plate out and sat down; even without interacting with anyone, she felt warmed to the core how well everyone was getting along. Class 1-A was feeling more and more like a family as time went on.
In class, things had for the most part returned to normal, lessons dragging on before Aizawa reminded them of something that actually caught the students' attentions. "I believe I mentioned this already, but your main focus this summer is obtaining Provisional Hero Licences."
"Yes sir!" Ayami joined in on the enthusiastic but serious response.
"Do not take this lightly. A Hero Licence means you're responsible for human lives. You can imagine that the exam to receive one is very difficult. Only fifty percent of students pass the test required for these permits each year."
"It's that hard to get a provisional licence?" Mineta repeated with wide eyes.
Aizawa only narrowed his own eyes. "In order to prepare, today you'll concentrate on creating something new." As if on cue, the doors to the class opened, revealing Ectoplasm, Midnight, and Cementoss. "Two Ultimate Moves." Ayami could almost feel the excitement pulsing through the class.
"When we say 'Ultimate,' we mean a move that will ensure you win against your opponent," Ectoplasm explained.
"An action so unique to your identity that no other person can hope to copy it," continued Cementoss. "Simply put, you must learn to lean into your strengths."
"Your moves represent who you are," Midnight stated, completing the mini-lecture from the three Pro Hero teachers that had arrived. "These days most Pro heroes have an Ultimate Move, also called a Super Move. Those who don't are fools."
"Ooh! Asclepius was telling me about this!" Ansaluia exclaimed. "And for us, there's so many options! I'm sure we've already technically created some, but we should definitely make more! Tons more!"
"This may sound abstract, but we'll explain more as the day goes on," Aizawa promised them. "For now, change into your costumes and meet at Gym Gamma." Everyone rushed to get ready, putting on their costumes and heading to the building. Ayami- having been there plenty of times before for her training with Aizawa himself and Shinsou- led the way. "This is Gym Gamma, also known as the Training Dining Land, or TDL," Aizawa introduced the class.
